 I am getting ready to change the trans fluid on my 2000 Ranger 4x4 & it has a heat shield that clips on to the trans pan. I can partially remove it until it hits the cat converter which is only 1-2" away from the trans & hits the converter before it can be removed so I can remove the trans pan. Any ideas or solutions?.

 Bend the shield as far away as you can and tilt the left side of the pan as far down as you can. While tilting the pan pull it to the left side and the pan will clear the shield. It's just like an old toilet you have to wiggle it just right
