This is the place to post the articles we all love on how to do things to our Rangers.

If the article is detailed, plenty of pictures and relevant to the operation performed it could very well end up on it's own page as I plan on an entire section of tech pages.

Any article we decide to turn in to a tech page the original author will receive 167 Reputation points, enough to light up an entire dot! You will always receive credit on the page for your article.

Thank you!

Jim

Jim, I added the "A" pillar grab handles to my 2000 Ranger & posted it on FRF but did not get a lot of pics. If I take new pics showing all the steps would you like to make it a how to?.

Absolutely, that's one I would add to the single tech pages. I plan on adding the tail light thing also, we need a detailed OHC conversion page also.

I'm not done with mine yet did you end up buying brackets or using the ones off the donor and what did you use for screws/ rivets?

Arrange it into a post and I'll hack it up and start the tech articles.

One thing I read 100 times that I know for sure not to be true, the temperature sensor is not always on the passenger side of the radiator support (for our international audience, the "right" side looking forward) after 3 painful days of reading and searching on the truck I found the temp sensor on the left side (driver side on most US vehicles) radiator support... 1997 Mountaineer.

In my experience, the OHC ambient temp sender is ALWAYS on the drivers side near the headlight clipped to the front side of the radiator support.  However, the ambient temp sensor for the EATC system is usually found on the passenger side.  These two sensors look identical but have different wire colors on the connector AND THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.  The wire colors for the OHC are DB/WH and DB/YW.  I have pin out diagrams if you need them.

Maxx, I am hoping to take new pics this weekend of the grab handles I installed in my 2000 & then I will post the info, as long as my 69 Mustang project doesn't take up too much of my weekend time. :crazy

That would be great - i obviously have the holes in my 2002, but no bolt mounts - i'm struggling to find trim pieces right now though :(  Handles i can get, even the "trim" parts for the handle are alright to find, but the trim portion? nope :(

I have a feeling I'll be constructing the separate pages way before the 6 month mark at this rate.

are you going to snag how to's from other forums or do you want them basically re-created?

I'm always down to do a how to, i've done a few for other forums, but I don't want to do them if they aren't needed.

I'm planning on doing a pinion seal and diff flood replacement soon, along with drum brakes, and shocks. Followed up with VC gaskets on an OHC 4.0

Yes still collecting. Need to create the real pages eventually just waiting for a couple free hours. As far as taking from other forums... if you wrote the original article sure but we need the pics hosted here.
In the article pages I'm going to take the images from the gallery that were used and copy them to a directory on the server so if anything happens to the gallery we will still have the info preserved. I can't count how many times last year I tried to look up how-to's on forums to find most of the pictures were originally at photobucket and are now gone.

Jim, I wrote up a "how to" on how I replaced the factory p/s cooler with an aftermarket one.
