Local guy has a simply babied 97 expo 5.0, just over 150K miles. Console, interior, everything really good. Has the blue dash lights too. I'm going to  hate to take this one apart I might drive it till I figure out which victim will get the donor parts. 2K.

think he means take it apart and use the drivetrain for a conversion
Its simple math
4 door explorer value = crappy
Clean 5.0 ranger = so money

get out the sawzall, drop the t case and pull that 302 right out

So I do have a chance. Talked to the guy for like 20 minutes.

Hes a mechanic. Bought it for his wife, she drove it for years and every time it would make a noise he would fix it.

Previous owner had a water pump put on. Cost him 800 bucks.

So at about 130000 miles it starts leaking on new owner. He immediately pulls it apart, finds the pump never had a gasket and they snapped 2 bolts out in the cover.

He replaces the entire cover, water pump, timing chain and gears.

The story is there is a guy who looked at it and is going to see if he can get a personal loan. He will know by tomorrow,  and if he can't then it is mine. So I figure a 100% chance it is mine especially if the guy says hes buying a 97 explorer.

Did i mention he just put new tires on it? Not cheap ones either.

I have done the inspection.
The tires are not new, they are in good shape but old enough to tell the front end is in good shape.
Drives great, plenty of power, no ticks or knocks.
I have no idea why I preliminarily passed on this vehicle. Well yes I do. I have so many projects going, I have all the parts needed to assemble the first one, I should complete it before starting another project. I'm running out of places to put cars at the current house.

We are looking for another house.

I assumed that Jamman was talking to take it out or not... my comment was for you two to get together somewhere in-between and do you stuff.

As you said and I didnt know, the 5.0L Ranger is worth more.

So back to my questions:   Seats, Radio, rear axle ?
What type, what options ?
I don't want to buy I just wanted to know !

Shipping to my location would be too expensive, even if I was interested.
