Old guy, truck was parked inside most its life, runs great, transmission started slipping when hot. He's done with it. Frame is excellent, about 150 on the clock.

first 4WD I've seen without the emblem on the back. 3.0.

800. Going to look at it if I can get the nerve to tell the wife.

It runs and moves, better than the last purchase I did.

Has a miss in one cylinder. Doesn't knock or tick but oil gauge is not coming up. Might be the sending unit, oil looked fine. I'll hook a real gauge to it before I fire it up the next time. The cam synch might be snapped, I think the miss is electrical it does not smell like a head gasket and doesn't sound like a valve or lifter. Oil and water full.

Black grill, no chrome. Black bumpers. Rubber and no carpet. Tan interior. Non smoker, thing smells like the rubber on the floor. Tires are good, over 50%.

Has that baby LS rear, the F7 which I have never seen before.

Frame is VERY good, funny one of the cross braces is real rusty like it was from another truck. Usually the frame is wasted in this situation but I spent 15 minutes under it with a light and it is fine.

It is like 20 times the last truck I bought, only 200 more.

Preliminary plans are... if the motor can be fixed easily the trans and interior from the POS i bought last time will fit it. The trans on the POS is allegedly good but I'm taking a chance.

I have no idea at this point. I own 5 green rangers now, 4 with viable frames and bodies one a POS so I have no idea at this point.

My original project on going for 5 years I'm hauling to an alternate location today, it already has the 5.0 in it.

I only have 4 explorers two rangers and a sport trac right now............

I'm not going to stop you, we highly encourage this type of behavior around here, in fact if you DIDN'T buy it, now that would be time to start to worry.

It has a light bar on the front too, came without fog lights.

Going in a few minutes here to tow the first project to work so I can get some assistance from the young'ins there.

Your starting to sound like a buddy of mine that has been married three times. He has also been divorced three times. To the same woman. They have been living together for the past 15 years.

It's heeeere. There is good and bad. The good:

Unusually clean radiator support.

Free light bar

A 99 made in late 98 so it has the flat hooks I've been looking for:

Some of the bad then the rest of the pictures.

3.0 lol

What happened here?

And the rest of the pics.

Nice!! I don't see any serious, or very much rust at all really.

It would be funny if one day you went to get in one of the rangers and got into the wrong green one

For some reason the AC works... like over works it blows colder than anything I have felt in a ranger. Crazy.

Looks like the head gasket might be blown. After running for 30 seconds the radiator pressurizes. Big time.

That will change the course of the plan for this one.

OK this one finally has a name. I'm going to call it PJ.... for Plain Jane since it isn't even a XLT (just says Ranger on the side), has no carpet, no cruise control, no power windows or door locks or mirrors.

Kinda dull. Plain Jane.

Selling the 99. If someone has a 3.0 laying around it would make a cool truck. I fount a receipt in it where the guy paid over $600 in service on the truck must have been days before the trans and head gasket blew by the date. He had a new 3rd brake light installed LOL cost him over 100 bucks.

So shoot me an offer.

If nobody here wants it I'll put it on CL.

OK this didn't happen today but almost. I was pulling this one home with my super dolly, I stopped about 5 miles in to the journey to check straps and such. When done I walked toward the one on the dolly and reached for the handle. The mind is a terrible thing to.... have.

Is that the 4x4 3.0? I would if you lived close, but it would cost me $2000 just to ship it my oldest two (foster daughter and son) are going to be turning 16 in the next few years, and it would be good to have a solid project to work on with them.
