Tried not to post about this but I referenced it in another post.

I'm moving soon. I bought a house that is in unbelievable shape, more money than what I am in, and ended up paying a substantial amount less than what I am currently paying per month. Current interest rates and housing market status made this possible, plus I still have my current house and will sell it the minute we move in the new one.

It is only 3 miles from where I live. Kids in the same school, incredible privacy fence around entire back yard like a fortress. The garage floor is painted with the no slip surface and is so clean I could drop a pizza slice face down and pick it back up to eat.

I did this for family and investment, not for me personally. I am excited but it just isn't me. Almost afraid to park a Ranger in the garage but you bet there will be one in there. Or 2. The rest I have to get rid of.

I don't know how much longer I want to stay working where I am, it is kinda like the first girl you date after a divorce (non followers, during covid I got fired from a job I had over 17 years). It is a small startup with potential but that is about it. That being said I don't want to park 4 Rangers there just to have to move them 6 months later. Getting expensive toting the parts trucks around.

I'll handle it any decision I make, it is just a little not on the path I thought as life often is.

So I'm the only one in the family not jumping for joy at the new house, but I will do what needs to be done because it is the right thing to do. Might open opportunities i am not seeing at the moment.

Jamman,

Good Luck with the buy and the move.
I have done it once and that is all I want to do but as you said the Market is there.
Around here, the prices have gone up so it might be a good time to sell.

Stay Safe,

Closed on the new place today. Was the least stressed closing I have ever been to, our real estate agent is very cool, the dude at the title company was cool and knew exactly what he was doing.

Everything explained in plain english, all I's dotted ant T's crossed, all numbers matched 100% what we were told and promised.

Our real estate agent worked for years as a radio talk show host here in Columbus, I used to listen to him daily on the way home from work. I found out through his social media feeds he was a real estate agent also so I contacted him. Extremely sharp and sarcastic, matches my sense of humor 100%. Felt more like a party than a closing we all had a good time.

So now 10 days to possession. The previous owner had a bunch of stuff she didn't want to move and we worked out a deal to buy it all, including a newer grill, small garage refrigerator and chest freezer, kitchen table set and a patio furniture set. I'm going some place with this....

Among this stuff is a fountain on the deck in the back. Probably one of the ugliest things I have ever seen, looks like a prop from a harry potter movie. I didn't want it, made fun of it to everyone I talked to about the house after I saw it. Now I own it.
Its value will be as a conversation piece because it is useless for anything else. I doubt if I can even move the thing as it is solid concrete.

The fountain... not a masterpiece.

The house itself, too clean LOL. This isn't staged, this is really how they took care of it:

This is the basement, where the wife and myself are setting up our cave. Oldest boy can have the master bedroom.
