 Ford issued a recall on 1.5 million f-150 trucks with build dates 4-2010 through 11-2013. The recall is for the transmission shifting from 6th gear to low gear causing whiplash. Check your build dates

 I guess from what I read that when the truck is in 6th gear when it tries to downshift it goes right to 1st gear
