I have what was a company vehicle they gave me to use. 80 miles on it when I got it. I traveled 5 states from 2003 to 2012 and they ended up selling it to me for $800.00. I knew the whole history and used Synthetic oil since day one when I've had it. I ran the smog for new registration yesterday. Not ever a check engine light or still not even a hint of smoke and holds great pressure. I've been through 2 water pumps. It's my go to work truck now and I'm going to try for 500k before I replace it.

Love it great story! Welcome to F-R, if you have a pic of your infinity Ranger regardless of how scary we would love to see it. A lot of us here are 200,000 plus including one of mine. None close to a half million though!

Wicked good!!
Is it an auto or a stick?

Change your oil people. The SOHC engine is a bomb proof setup WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR OIL often enough.

Why replace it in 6K miles? Sounds like you just got her broke in.

Thank you, I'll try and get a few pic's up soon. I am hoping to hit 500K with this before I do any rip and tear to the engine. I know she's getting tired but everything else on it is sound. I was also was a member of the other forum board.

Synthetic oil I had changed at 7,500. miles, and still do. It's an A/T and somewhere, sometime in all my travels in 5 states I had the fuel filter changed and whomever did it they screwed up. They did something and JB welded the filter to the line. By the time I found out about it I was hundreds of miles away. I couldn't even tell who did it or even why for. Have to get all new lines from the tank to the pump. It's little things like that that I'm going to clear out after I hit 500K.

The O.P. here. I got a total of 518K miles on it before I needed to red tag it and have it towed. 11/17/2022 I let her rest in peace. I was planning for the last year on doing this anyway this winter.
Master engine kit, along with new heads, plus anything and everything I could think of has been purchased and set aside. Now it's time to put it to use.
