I'm really not sure on that compatibility, you can look at my picture below to get an idea on what it looks like, i can't imagine it changes much re the cylinder head positioning though.

The 3 little cats certainly add weight and for a fact they restrict this engine :(
You can always use the 'shove a stick in it' method, cat honeycomb isn't very physically strong, so it's easily knocked out like rusty metal.
