I had a similar massive problem trying to replace my 3.0 plugs - all the reference stuff is superseded, replaced, conflicted, the materials don't even play out properly. Double plat were spec'd but only so they lasted 100k - the 3.0 uses wasted spark, it means one bank fires from the center electrode to the outer, and the other bank is the opposite. Ford, from the factory, fitted one type to one bank, and another type to the other bank - one side is cheaper than the other.... I decided to stop pissing around with the autolites and motorcraft plugs, depending on who i looked up, or which ford dealer i called, i got conflicting results. Short version, i fit regular NGK plugs (see below) which will last a regular 20k-30k miles, they're regular cheap priced plugs so that's all good. Just bear in mind that gap matters, these plugs came too closed up so needed opening to the correct gap first. Attachment: IMG_20170811_181216.jpg (Downloaded 40 times)
