Newer expos and aviators have floor shifters and with a little work the consoles fit. Also and I should be banned for this but s10's blazers Jimmy's have optional floor shifters with full length consoles. The console for the most part is relatively flat. In my old 83 ranger I used a 79-86 mustang console and floor shifter. I like your idea and have been wanting to do a floor shifter. Keep me informed on what you find out
