If it EVER gets warm, my first task it to drop a 4.0 OHV from a 99 expo in to a 98 Ranger XLT born with a 4.0 OHV

Staring at both of these for a while they seem completely identical.

Going 99 to 98 should I use the ECU from the expo or leave the ranger one in there? My first thought is it will be OK with the ranger ECU. Anyone had to deal with this before?

Check the part numbers on the ECU in both trucks. Let me know what they are if they are different. If they have different numbers which I'm sure they do the interchange is more then likely going to be the same. I'll run the numbers at work to verify. Rangers and Explorers are basically the same until you get into Eddie Bauer's and the Limiteds then   changes a ton
