 Both lower ball joints are bad and I have the left side bushings groaning so it time for some parts. I ordered Moog upper and lower control arms, spring cups, and alignment camber set from RockAuto for just over $300 shipped a few minutes ago. I looked at a few different parts sites and RockAuto had everything in stock and the best prices. 

I will be updating this thread as things progress.

 The parts showed up today. Each line item in its own box.

Just an fyi there is a lot of cardboard as everything is double boxed in the heavy cardboard.

Now I have get busy and find my pickle fork...

 I spent 4 hours working on the Truck. I got the driver's side disassembled. I tackled it first because the bolts were severely corroded and I figured it would be the worst side. It took a lot of effort with a pickle fork to get the lower ball joint loose. Since I am replacing the control arms I had to remove the shock and coil spring. Getting it back together with the spring properly clocked was also a challenge. I ran out of time and got about half way through the reinstall on the driver side. I have limited time I can work on it so it might be over 3 or 4 days.

Here it is with the rotor off. The brakes look good.


Top bearing is finally off. I had to use a helper bar to get it off as it was rusted solid.


Here it is with everything off:


CRAP! This is the locker bolt off the lower rear control arm. I used some heat and tried to reform it but it snapped.


Note: for those doing this swap out, leave the control arms loose to allow movement realigning the ball joints. 

And for some more bad news, my rear engine seal is leaking. I don't know how long but the transmission is wet but it has not dripped to the ground. Before I get through with this job I will hit it with engine cleaner so I can monitor how much it is actually leaking out.

 I appreciate the support.

I will limp the rear seal along till I get another project completed. When that project is streatable I will pull the 3.0 and fix the rear seal, replace the oil pump, and do some other performance mods.

 I only spent about 2 hours on it today. I have everything reinstalled on the left side. The upper ball joint gave me some grief as it was about 3/4 inch from being able to seat it. I ended up using a floor jack on both lower control arms so I could line up the bolt.

I got the upper control arm and lower control arm installed on the right side. The lower ball joint was very well attached and gave me a fit. I was exhausted and saved wrestling the coil spring for tomorrow.
