Still lurking around here, watching.
A little update:
The green 98 I had that had the blown head gaskets I was resurrecting got stolen from my house a while ago. No idea where it is, no idea why they got it. It still looked like a huge POS, but who knows. It's probably in Mexico somewhere. No PATS, I trusted my neighbors so I left the keys in it. Cops haven't seen it, it's gone. I had just fixed the ac in it too.

White 1984 ranger still no title. There's a video on YouTube about how I can apply for a Virginia title without living in Virginia so I might try that next. Little life update for everyone.

1983 Ranger, reluctantly taking apart. Donor/project vehicle.

1997 Ranger Ex Cab Manual 4.0 2wd, dead on arrival. Hopefully reviving for a daily driver.

1984 Ranger, currently in ≈861 pieces. She’s donating what’s salvageable.

Really bad, sorry this happened to you.

Titles can be an issue in any state these days. The person who stole yours probably can't get a title either but people like them make it hard for normal people like us. Not all cars without a title are stolen.

I passed on a great deal one time, the guy had taken his title to one of those cheesy pawn shops, got a small loan on it like a couple hundred. Went back to pay it off, place went belly up. Abandoned building, owners disappeared.

He kept renewing the tags and registration for like 5 years! Then when it came time to get rid of it he couldn't and it wasn't necessarily his fault.

My neighbor across the street still has her 91 with really low miles, her elderly mothers next door neighbor died and no keys or title were ever found, her family lives in florida and had abandoned their mother. The truck sits and my neighbor has been in court and spent hundreds on red tape. Still no title.
