Every since I took my servers down and decided to host elsewhere I have had problems with the site.

Please take a minute to chime in if you have had any of these issues.

Also please do not upload pictures in this thread as it seems to affect how long it takes to open a thread.

The issues I have had:

  1. Threads with a lot of posts or a lot of pictures seem to take forever to load.
  2. Pictures over a certain size seem to lock the upload system up. Both the built in upload button and the gallery functions.
  3. The problem seems a lot worse on mobile devices than computers.
  4. Posting long articles is scary to me now because I have lost literally hours of typing (I type slow) when I try to upload a picture to explain something.

I have done a ton of work to my silver truck. I even bought a new phone so I could have a better camera and be able to upload pics to the board of my progress on several projects. I can't even upload a picture of my truck from my phone and I can't upload from my computer if the picture is large and if it does succeed the thread takes forever to access.

Let me know, I will consider it info and not complaining regardless of the tone of your typing.

I havent tried the gallery in a while but I have experienced long delays after making selections from forum topics. Its definitely a lot clunkier since the switch.

When I joined this forum it was new and active with members and posts. When I visit now, it's not. I think it would be wise to revive the forum, and address the server afterwards. If no one comes to view, or post it doesnt really matter.

But if you can't use the site why bother coming? I guess it bothers me more then most. I have like 10 things I've done to my truck and I can't post pictures.

Jim, Using my laptop or the home PC to read posts speed wise seems good, as a test I uploaded a pic to my gallery & it seemed a little slow.

Jim, I think the move to logicweb was a bad one. I know the driving force was the issue over finding a hosting company that offered php 5.6 but you could set up an account with a better hosting company using php 8 - we have the files to make it work. It may take a little tweaking but I have it running on my server under the latest php - 8.4 I think and it is lightning fast even on image heavy topics.

Anyone can have a peep but if you login and post it will NOT update the live forum, at https://frphp7.uk

Even the nikon forum that I now host under PHP7 is running fine and that IS picture heavy!  https://nikondslr.uk if anyone wants a look.

In deepest Italy as of today, playing hossies!

I agree with you. I think both issues need to be addressed. I needs to be user friendly and active to keep people using and returning.
