I was down to a 1/8th tank so I filled up the truck. I got 244 miles and put 13.6 gallons in.  Almost 18 mpg where 180 of those miles were a 2 mile trip four to  six times a day. Each trip with a cold engine. I expect the exhaust to rust out soon as it doesn't get up to temperature.  The local Quick Trip was advertising Regular for $3.23 a gallon. It has climbed a penny or two almost daily for the past week. November 6, 2020 the same station was $1.82. I will post next Saturday on what the advertised pric is. BTW: I filled up at Costco where Regular is $3.05.

I only used one tank of fuel in the truck this past month. I also used one tank of fuel  in the '06 ElectraGlide. I am running 91 octane 100% gas that cost about $4 a gallon. It has a performance dyno tune with this fuel. If I run 93 octane with 10% alcohol I have less power and fuel mileage. The same goes with the 10% 89 octane but it is close. I used 4.4 gal and ran 231 miles for 52.5 mpg.  This is all city driving with a full dresser that has the optional Tour Pack. I am running a high torque cam, Fueling oil pump, Screaming Eagle air box, and Vance & Hines Fishtail free flowing exhaust. A basic stage one mod kit with the performance dyno tune that gives me slightly over 80 HP. It is much quicker than stock but is not a super quick bagger by any means. That job is left to the 96 Sportster 1200 Sport that has been punched out to 1460 CC or 89 CI. It has 11.8:1 compression so I need compression reliefs to start the beast. It has worked Buell heads, N-8 cams, Buell crank, Keith Black pistons, Dyna Ignition, Hooker 2:1 tunable exhaust, Super E with a Yost power tube, and a front primary sprocket with one more tooth and a rear sprocket with 3 more teeth in the primary.  I run 105 octane with fuel mileage be dammed. I can't ride it for more than a half hour as the vibrations will make you numb if you are a guy and into orgasmic bliss if your wife is riding on the back. It does 109 mph at 6.4 seconds in the 1/8 mile. The Sporty sees very little street use. It is ridden an 1/8th mile at a time. It is time for new piston rings as it has dropped off in time the last two runs.

I try to buy CostCo gas for my truck if at all possible.  Over the life of my owning it, it has averaged out at about 20.5mpg.  I go by there and my home from work, so it is no problem.  In the bike I run ethanol and MTBE free pure gas.  The bike is running a Kuryakyn Velociraptor high flow intake with a K&N element, Hacker 2 into 2 high flow large tube exhaust, the engine ECU has been reflashed for an increase of 22% torque and 21% HP.  Bike gets a standard 51mpg, but can go up as high 52.5.  Not much variation there.

In my local, the Costco route is a trip and a half... almost a bring your lunch thing, 30 minutes to get to the pumps, you save $0.40 /gal but not always worth the wait when you are taking 10 gallons of gas maximum and it still cost $4.00/+/gal..

The smaller local stations are a drive-in and out thing... Wham-Bam and done !  OK I paid $4.00 more for the last fill.

Costco is 4 miles from the house. I get fuel Sunday mornings before they open the store. I also have two gas cans I keep full but rotate the fuel every month by adding it to my wife's car and occasionally to the truck. The wife's car has about a third of a tank and I topped off my larger gas can this past weekend.  The wife's car will get filled this weekend.

Yeah, I won't go that far out of my way for gas.  I just happen to go by CostCo on my way home, so easy peasy.  The station with no ethanol is close by work, and I don't mind traveling on the bike for gas.  I wait until either is low, unless it's gonna snow, I'll gas up before that.

I have a separate 5 gallon gas tank that I get the 91 octane real gas. I use it in the lawnmower and other small engines. I pass that station on the way to work. I just added fuel stabilizer to the last batch and I will run everything with it to get the fuel stabilizer into everything when I service it. I will top off the E-Glide with it when it doesn't have the stabilizer in it to keep it fresh.

Late post. The price has not changed this past week.  I topped off the wife's car Sunday with premium fuel - it is a 2L turbo that puts out 290 HP  and does better with the high octane fuel. I also topped off the lawnmower and the E-glide with the 91 octane real gas I had in storage with sta-bil. I had a five gallon gas can that is now empty.  I will fill in in the next few weeks. The lawnmower, E-glide, wife's car, and truck all have more than 3/4 full tanks.  I still have a 2.5 gal 91 octane that is juiced with sta-bil  and a 5 gal gas can of 88 Octane  10%  ethanol that will get used within the next month in the truck and refilled.

Costco is up to $3.13 for regular. It increased 4 cents a gallon yesterday when they opened.  The QT and Racetrack that are within a mile of the Costco are at $3.31.  There were two price increases this past week.

I am in coastal New Hampshire this week. I see regular for $3.28 - $3.42. I pre-paid a tank of fuel for the rental car at $3.39 in Boston where I picked up the rental car.

I got a Gas Buddy alert that the Costco in NE Atlanta has dropped to $3.01 a gallon yesterday. I guess the 50 million barrels release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve had a affect on price. If memory serves 50 million barrels is less than a day supply for the county. Lets Go Brandon!

Yup it's like painting over graffiti on the side of a building that you put there. But no more mean tweets!

Regular - $4.59
Mid-Grade - $4.89
Super - Didn't look at it.
Diesel - $4.99
Why should Diesel cost more than gasoline, it doesn't take as much refining ?

Diesel is a by product of refining gasoline. It used to be cheaper than gas when only truckers used it. The higher demand with the cars and pick-ups has driven the price up.

Regular is $2.79 at Costco and $3.16  at RaceTrack and QuickTrip here in NE ATL.

What is your diesel price now? Ours has just hit the US equivalent of $8.20 a gallon!

That is £7.50 an imperial gallon..... nearly £90 to fill the tank.

So often I don't even look at the price per gallon, just the total bill.  Gas is one of those stupid thing you have to have, no matter what
