Ram Dealer Adds $50,000 Markup to 2021 TRX “Launch Edition”

- https://www.fourwheeler.com/news/2021-ram-1500-trx-launch-edition-dealer-markup/?wc_mid=4035:20843&wc_rid=4035:29719315&_wcsid=257B7F12DBE3DED44F326B305BDD961CF7E1AF3C9B124725

You thought you had a story? This just came out in 4WD Magazine as if to normalize it to the pay to play crowd.

Automotive sales is a unusual and messed up business. Forget all about sales.. that is a Jerry Springer show all of it's own.

So here is where it starts. --  Cox Enterprises, Inc

Two Prominent names should stand out:
 • J. Leonard Reinsch - was a broadcasting executive who became president and CEO of COX Communications. He advised four US Presidents. He assisted the White House Press Secretary office in 1945, during the transition from President Franklin D. Roosevelt to President Harry Truman, and advised Winston Churchill on his 1946 "Iron Curtain" speech.
 • Arthur Blank - (born September 27, 1942) is an American businessman and a co-founder of the home improvement retailer The Home Depot.  He also currently owns two professional sports teams based in Atlanta, Georgia - the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) and Atlanta United of Major League Soccer (MLS), the latter of which having won the 2018 MLS Cup, thus giving him an MLS Cup Championship to his credit.

History, banking, and economics.. you think they'd all be in sync, and they are.. just not the way most think.  Arthur above.. nearly everything he owns is Sports related. Every Sports league, NFL, MBA, NHL, NBA, MLB.. they're all NON-Profits. Sounds like a charity right?  Wrong..  A non profit ONLY differs financially in the income column by one thing - on Dec 31 each year every penny in the account, which mind you all of those leagues make BILLIONS of dollars, but every penny is paid out to all the board members and shareholders. NOTHING carries into the new year. But I digress... Think about that the next time you hear someone talking about a NON-Profit as if its a charity event or dutiful thing your doing.

Here's why it should matter to you.  Cox Enterprises, Inc owns:

Dent Wizard
Manheim Auto Auctions
Dealer Trader
AutoTrader
Akinvest Inc
ExportTrader
CarFax
Kudzu
Kelly Blue Book
Cox Media Group
Cox Broadcasting
Cox Radio
Cox Newspaper
Cox Communications

Here's a brief history lesson that ties into this.  In the earliest of 1900's They found that owning just 21 of the largest newspapers in that day they could manipulate and control what, where, and who people liked or didnt like. Who they voted for, who they banked with, where and who they bought insurance and homes? What universities you paid to send your posterity too, What cities people saw best to move to location for other schools or the way people thought.. etc..  And it worked.

Radio came along, used the same tactics, Television, Cable TV, Satelite TV / Radio, Streaming services... Heck, Facebook & Instagram / TikTok / Snap-chat.. You think those services are free because someone thought we needed that in our lives?  Nope!
You and I are the commodities for that. Why you think the meta data and all the privacy stuff is such a big deal along with the fight over the control of the internet? Because to sell it to everyone. read the 39 pages of IG TOS everyone just blindly clicks [ I Accept].. None of your own pics are even yours anymore if you share them on there platform.

Cox Enterprises, Inc Owns everything that regulates the Used car market including availability, market value, cost of ownership, mechanics wages, dealership inventories, marketing and advertising, market interest, banking & financing, import/exporting, what times of the day/night you see ads or IF you see someones ad.

Then you add in 145 auctions in N. America, Europe, Asia, Australian markets.. Every dealer uses Dealer Trader in some capacity, Auto-Trader, KBB, CarFax as almost all customers judge and base things off of each of those guidelines; Carfax, KBB, AutoTrader..

Who do you think controls pricing of cars, which lends to indexing of what markets will pay for new cars.. You think it's really the Auto manufactures themselves controlling the pricing or industry?  Not saying there's any anti-trust laws being forsaken here but I'll tell you what.  I know Monopoly isn't just a game invented by Hasbro

Just let enough of that marinate in your gray matter as you research those dots to connect.  And we havent even got to the dealer groups yet. lol

The Automotive Used/New sales Industry is putting people together like 3-pc puzzles..

If I was going to spend that much for a truck I would certainly get the Rivian being you won't be able to buy gasoline in 10 years.

That dodge gets the fuel mileage of a 2000 Ranger!

Did not know Cox was that big, KBB, auto trader and carfax surprised me.

There's a Manheim Auto Auctions right up the street from me!

Suggested retail is too rich for me and then they add a $50k premium? Big NOPE.

Back when the supercharged Lightening was being offered the dealers in GA had a $10-$15k premium on them here in GA. I have a friend who got a 2002 Lightening from a dealership in Mississippi for $1000 more than retail. That is a stupid quick truck.

Sports franchises are not non-profits.  The NFL, the parent organization was, but they gave it up in I think it was 2015.  I did not research NFL, NBA, but I am positive it is the same.

Actually they're still a Non-profit but..

In 2015 the NFL gave up the tax-exempt status it had held since 1947 in response to mounting criticism for its quickly growing revenue. The league now exists as a trade association made up of and financed by its 32 member teams.

So seems since 1947 seems the NFL, likely others mentioned have enjoyed the same benefits as any Church; the league was an unincorporated nonprofit 501(c)(6) association up until 2015.  Wow. I wonder how much money that was?!

I would agree. However, at the same time the way the Automotive sales industry is handled here in the States, most consumers are completely under the guise that the way they've been buying a car, led again by "Professionals" in the industry, truly believe that they're in compliance with the process and how or at least in how it works.

Most people when it comes to finances of loans and real banking. Well, lets just say far less really understand it.  There are people completely fooled by the fact that they think their credit score is the sole reason besides willingness and ability to make a payment is what it is.

The problem we have, not that I agree with it because I'm of older raising myself.  The way the economy really works is based purely on debt.  The more money saved, the more that stagnates the actual economy. That's NOT what we want to hear or be told but its the reality.  The less people spend, the less the money shared goes around crating all sorts of small wonders of debt but, I would likely get some people severely confused or upset picking apart their paradigms.

All in all tho, with all the conversation between banks, gov, wall street, business about the economics, I think we're all going to feel quite different soon about what we all thought.
