Was just curious of the amount of new Ranger owners on this site since the new platform is almost 2 years old?

We assume that's not a clique that's made its way here yet?

Will do better to keep most content relevant towards the older Ranger clan..

Have not had one in the shop yet, but I am sure there will be in time. I will not buy a 19-20 ranger simply because I have big diesel trucks for hauling/truck stuff. However I do have my eye on the 21 Bronco's oooooh la la!

The Ranger is much like other trucks in its class, its the new "Hatchback" vehicle of the modern day.  The Bronco will basically be the 4dr hatch station wagon version like the Escort and Focus wagons were because its in SUV form.

I do like big trucks too, the F450 dually I have access to is nice, just big and then I get a God-Complex when I drive it. lolol

I personally like even smaller Diesel trucks, sadly Ford won't bring a Ranger with the turbo Diesel here but with regards to what we do hobby and business wise, and we do a fair bit of fullsize domestic truck gear both gas and some diesel options, but most places myself and personal crew get in at, a fullsize truck isn't going to get there, not without being damaged usually and even if not so much, few people willing to risk putting Arizona Pin-striping down a queens fender let alone risking anything more than that.

I just figured its 2 yr old now and for as much as everyone was excited for it.. I just figured we'd have a couple guys on here making some posts.

It's our member Bridge Launcher, he was having trouble posting but was able to use the gallery and upload a picture. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me posting it:

So only one member on here has a newer truck? Everyone else is driving trucks that are at least 10 years old? Maybe it's just because I live in the rust capitol of the world, Pennsylvania; and around here trucks don't last much more than 10 years without a lot of money and effort. But why no love for the new Ranger? I've driven it and really liked it! I wasn't expecting it to be the 1990's all over again. I was expecting a competent truck in a smaller package and it delivered!

Cool welcome! Most of us old timers just wanted more options, like a diesel or a large 6 maybe dual turbo. Wasn't necessarily anything against the truck itself but more Fords decision not to listen to the "ranger base". Most of us wanted more than one engine option.

And 10 year old trucks? The majority of us are in the 16 to 25 range :)

Not an old timer, don't have the money to buy one, but I agree 100%.

Old timer here, I like the looks of the new Ranger but it is too much for me to spend. I will stick with my 21 year old Ranger.

I certainly agree with y'all on the price thing but unfortunately there's nothing none of us can do about that as everything is getting that expensive. The Ranger is very competitive with the Colorado, Tacoma, and others on price point when you start comparing them.
What the competition offers that the Ranger doesn't is multiple powertrain options. For those of us who prefer a naturally aspirated motor, like myself, the Ranger may not be what we're looking for. I like it, but I would also seriously consider the GM twins or a used Frontier just because of that. GM and Nissan both give me a naturally aspirated V6. I don't trust turbos as they get older with higher mileage. Had a bad experience with a turbo Chrysler back in my youth

Problems most American public have with turbos, unless a gear-head is that we as a society are in always such a hurry to get as much of anything or nothing done in a day, that we hotbox our vehicles and when we get to the destination we shut it down, jump back in it 20 mins later, rage on the vehicle, shut it down, and over repeated treatment and the increasing lack of preventative maintenance vs fixing it when and only after it breaks.

The turbo systems never cool down properly, the oil caramelizes in the lines, becomes liked clogged arteries in the system, less oil equals less cooling, failures, driving habits all combined.. deemed poor design or driveability idea.  Not saying anything outside of societal changes affect things including how we take care of ourselves and vehicles.

Personally I do agree somewhat on the v6 N/A though.. but the option to add a turbo to that whether diesel/gasoline would be nice too for the Ranger.  I really gave grief to every Nissan opted opportunity when they touted putting the Cummins in the Frontier and failed only to run 3-4 years of the 5.0L varient in the Titan.  They would have turned the US market for midsized trucks with a  Diesel option on its end and they chickened out because of politics and poorer decision making in my opinion because they just needed to build a 5/8 ton truck that actually was the thickness of the dividing line of 1500 series compared a 2500 series sized truck.  Utter sillyness in marketing and need for the free market and interest of truck buyers.  Unless you were a die-hard Titan fan, you had to fill the bed with discounts to off many of those trucks.

As for cost, comparatively the Ranger is right up there with everyone else and even down under, the Ranger and the Hilux in the market place are always head to head in competition.  The fact they have other trucks and UTEs that round out markets is also interesting, much like the new Maverick, the Hyundai Santa Cruz, and there's another one or two coming about.  Plus you have an industry here for some reason being HARD driven for EV vehicles and although I see a use and a purpose, I don't fully feel the bombardment of it all.  EV or Electric is NOT the answer to everything although I find it purposeful when it is desired or needed.  I tend to look at it more like an industry bubble building something out of nothing because that's how our economy works, backwards from debt not positive cash flow.

Otherwise we wouldn't be being penalized with inflation as a hidden tax.
