Close. 2000 short cab steppie with 4wd. The mileage is unusual. There is an unusual rust pattern, like they held it by the front tow hooks and immersed the rear half in salt water. Like no rust up front and frame rot in the back.  Some of the cleanest doors I have seen in ohio.
Are those expo wheels or later ranger?

This is grime and not rust.

JAMMAN, Those rims I believe are called Split-Spoke rims. Introduced 99 or later (unsure of exact year) they are my all time favorite rims on Rangers. Though I may be biased since my first truck had them.

The doors are nice for a salt truck, I took a pic of the worst bottom but there is mild rust at the seam only none on the bottom. The arm rests not separating is unusual but it does have less than 130,000 miles.

I don't quite know the plans for this one yet.

Nice truck but I think the Steppie Bed needs to go on your V-8 Short Bed swap !

122K miles not too bad.

Yes (122K) that's why I find it hard to believe him when he says the engine is blown. Especially since the oil looks great and is right to the top.

I did find more rust than average in the radiator, water was way low.

I'm working on getting that 4.0 in the extended cab I have, that is first.

I have no plans so far other than that. Between the original short bed 2wd 5.0 and the one I just bought I could probably make a decent truck.

Original: short cab short bed 2WD. 5.0 planted but needs engine mount swap on driver side (long story). Cab has substantial rot at driver corner. Frame is freaking awesome. Passenger door has rust, driver door has been replaced at some point.

Latest one: Short cab steppie bed, rear of frame rotted, cab in incredible shape. Both front fenders mildly bent at bumper. Doors OK.

SOOOO if I took the original project and used the cab and the doors from the latest one I have a truck with a 5.0 and not enough rust to bother anything. Being they are both 2000 and both the exact same color makes this better.

I could not get a good cab and doors for 500 bucks. And I have a great interior and tons of other parts to boot. No brainer. Just need a few guys to help.

Not that I am going to jump on a plane and come and help... BUTT if I was int eh area I would be there to assist !

I would love to have something new to follow.

Good Luck on the multi truck project, sounds like you will get a good one out of the deal.

The bed has a crack on the left, hard to see from the pic I didn't take of it.

I've never worked with fiberglass is it easy or a pain in the butt?

Prep is the key. The good thing is if you muck it up it can be sanded out and you can do it again.

Working with Fiberglass is messy but not hard, time consuming, and very dusty from the sanding...  wear a good mask !    That shouldn't be a problem !

I found easiest... work with as flat a piece as possible; so take the bed side off, just a few torx bolts.
Make sure you start with a flat area, and get some of the resin the crack itself !
Reinforce on the inside.

Just my way !
