Hi everyone! Local Ranger Gal here :)

I was curious, has anyone ever done racing seats in the Ranger? I am looking at some comfy looking Cipher or NRG seats. Able to use a 4 or 5 point harness with.

I know you can buy the brackets, but I don't want to buy $600 seats an it not work and be stuck with them. (Custom made to order).

Anyone have any brands or links? Or know of any that are a definite fit?

I have the XLT Standard Cab. I am 5'2" so seats size are not super pressing, as I am tiny.

A ranger, no.  I have corbeau lg1's in my lightning.  The harness's get real old, real fast on the street though.  I went back to oem belts

You'll need a harness bar to wear the belts correctly

You'll want the sliders too, regardless of the std cab or not, trust me and they're usually separate from the brackets by most manufactures of the brackets. Unfortunately your height has more to do with what rides you can get on at DisneyWorld than a truck seat in reality but there are long term considerations to a bucket [fixed race seat] vs a reclineable bucket [race seat]. A quick look at anything from Corbeau, Bride, or Sparco will net you a quick lesson if not already by the brand you mentioned. Spend the few extra dollars for a reclinable.

As mentioned, and since you're not engaging in any 3 digit speeds nor serious rock crawling antics, 5 points even for just the driver side are unnecessary. Dual 4 points are more than enough and even then any passengers will hate you after a few ride shares and obviously you won't be doing Uber or Lyft. It does get old after a couple weeks to a month. #fastcarproblems

I think those are the standard buckets to be honest. The Sport seats have a under the thigh cushion that's adjustable and a separate part of the seat itself for comfort. And in everything from my own to BMW and Mercedes Benz I've been exposed to those were what made the vehicle a "Sport Pkg" by trim when ordering a vehicle. Still nice seats, but I would have to disagree that their the Sport seats, at least not the same as the 93-97 to which I have a pair of 94' and the ones above would honestly be a bit of an in-between from what I think is a true Sport Seat and a cloth 60/40 bench seat.

that smaller cushion is adjustable.

I put some Corbeau seats in my Mazdaspeed Protege, But I went with ones that were pretty flat, since I needed more room in the car. I would buy something a bit more padded for my Truck. the seats are all pretty generic, its the seat brackets that are custom fit. So I would first look for a company that sells a bracket for a ranger, and then see what seats fit the bracket.

I planned on getting reclinable ones. As I will still have the 12" sub I was able to stuff behind my driver seat still there, and will have slider brackets. I found a company whom makes the brackets, and Summit Racing distributes them. $125 a side for the brackets/slider piece.

The reason I mentioned height is most people (typically dudes) drive rangers and are substantially larger in size than I am.
My dad and boyfriend are both 6'4" and 200+ lbs and look like foldable lawn chairs trying to sit in my driver seat.
Some seats of where you sit from bottom to top are taller, so if it was a taller lower part, it would not be an issue, as I need all the height I can get.

I was raised on 80s-90s R&B, Country, and all the Rock of similar era.
Metallica, Guns & Roses, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard to name a few.

Actually, most of the rock was played while riding with dad in the Ranger (My Ranger) :)
