Im feeling awful and angry and I needed to vent. I posted here rather than join a medical forum. Lol.

I'm miserable and currently suffering from what I originally thought was a cold but turned out to be allergys. I work outside and many of my co workers have children so I cant follow the easy home remedies like staying indoors. Every time I suffer from either of these, I start googling for instant relief with no luck. I eventually read one or more articles that call these "minor inconveniences" and I get pissed.

I know bleach will cure AIDS, cancer,
and the common cold but it will also kill you. Lol. I know it's more profitable to treat the symptoms than a actual cure but if they cant find a cure for the common cold, why do we hold out hope that they will find a cure for things that are really inconvenient, like cancer.

If you offered me a instant cure for the common cold and said, " that will be $200 " I'd say " here you go!!! " it just drives me crazy that there is no monetary motivation to cure colds because they consider these minor inconveniences. Sure, you can gamble with their guess on flu shots but they've guess wrong the last couple years and the friends and family that did get the shot almost always got sick right after. So that's not a solution yet for me.

Allergy medicine is better than cold medicine but why does it take 4 fing days for it to start to work? I cant even sleep through the misery cause I cant breathe and if I start to doze off I'm quickly woke back up by my nose running....

I get just as upset when I have a huge mosquito bite that Itches so bad i scratch a huge hole in my skin. They know the entire science involved with mosquito saliva yet they cant make a topical creme that nuetralizes the saliva and gives relief....

I'd love to lock all these medical scientists in a little glass box filled with pollen and hungry female mosquitoes loaded with every version of the rhinovirus and see how inconvenienienced they feel.

Please put me out of my misery!! I dont get these very often but when I do, I'd rather be in a medically induced coma till I felt better than to suffer these minor inconveniences.

🤧🤢🤮😡🤬😤 Rant over,
Thank you

Vitamin C for the cold, it is the only way to fight it off quickly
We have powdered pure vitamin C here, I add it to drinks often and when I have a cold I eat ALOT of it. Gives you energy and helps your body fight off the cold. You CANNOT ingest too much VIT C, your body will simply get rid of what it does not use.

For your allergies it sucks but there is not much you can do, Claratin and any other histamine blocker is the only way to stop the symptoms. RAW milk and local honey are very good at helping you get immunity to an allergy.
If you have a sore throat the ONLY thing I have EVER found to actually help/stop the sore throat swelling and scratchyness is Nano silver (similar to collodial silver). Spray some on the throat and gargle with it. Orange juice, fresh squeezed will also help sooth. The losengers and knumbing spray are only temporary relief. The nano silver will actually cure the throat irritation

I had terrible allergies almost my whole life, finally started to get rid of them in my mid 30's and now Im 46 I rarely ever get them. Whats different? Our house has no furnace and I no longer eat meat. I know I know Im crazy right? Not exactly. Furnaces blow dust around and recycle the air in your house. Working at a business indoors with a HVAC system and then living in a house with HVAC my whole life = allergies. No more office desk job (I work from home) and out house uses wood heat and no furnace = no more HVAC system = no pollens and dust in the air = less allergies. The vegetarian thing helps too because the meat and foods we eat these days are over processed. So for me and my family its back to nature, back to the way we USED to live not to many generations ago (grandparents)
You are what you eat. Allergies can be stopped, just like immunity to a bee sting your body has what it needs to fight, you just need to help it.
The medical model is so broken, I do not even want to go there. I have watched my mom (hypochondriac) see the doctors and specialist fmy whole life, I always resisted. My dad is the opposite and he hates the doctor. Guess who is holding up better in their 80's? My mom is plagued with issues and more pills, my dad is doing great, eating healthy and exercise, avoid the prescriptions.
When was the last time anyone went to the doctor and was cured?
Only surgeons can fix people, only nurse practitioners are accountable for their actions, for me I AVOID doctors. If you have to see somebody for a bad cold or worse go see a nurse practitioner, they can be sued for their actions so typically they provide much better care.
We do LOTS of in home remedies here, I have never felt better.....

Now my son who is 9 has all the allergies, poor kid.

keep up the good fight, don't believe the medical model, it is so far gone from what is real, its all profit driven and nobody is accountable, I mean look around. BABY POWDER causes cervical cancer? Give me a break.
There is a good documentary I watched recently called "The magic pill" it is all about how refined foods have killed our health
back to NATURE!!!!!!!!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE in this fight

For the mosquitos eat more garlic and less sugar, with enough garlic in your diet they will completely leave you alone. We live next to a river and our land floods each spring, summer = BAD mosquitos! Sprays and such are BAD FOR YOU = (your body has to fight off the deet) so start from teh inside out, take garlic pills during the hot months or eat more garlic...trust me when I say it WORKS

There is a mixture out there made from Elderberries, some clove, and cinnamon, but I do not know the mix.

Look it up!

My daughter came over with some, it seems to clear out the sinuses but I can't say cured me.
I have had a head cold for about 2 1/2 week and still it is hanging in there!

As 410C has stated, extra "C", upward to 2000 units while you have the cold and drop off by 500 unit at a time once the cold is gone; and a regiment of 500 units per day is a good thing to keep the immune system in check... along with that take a small dose of "D" while you have the cold, "D" helps the "C" absorb in the system.

The pollen count doubled overnight here in the ATL. I have sinus problems anytime it is above 300. It was 6262 this morning.

This is the allergy time of year. I suffer from seasonal allergies in the Spring when everything starts to bloom & then again in the Fall before everything goes dormant before the Winter. I take 1 Claritin each day & use Flonaise sometimes when it is really bad. BTW allergies are way more then an inconvenience.

I have found Flonaise works great with the Flu too.

Use it in the morning and evening, gargle twice a day for sure.

But the latest head cold could have been a mix of allergy and head cold... a lot of GREEN junk blowing out !

Longest time with a head cold EVER !
Maybe it is a secret virus from an enemy of the US... just checking things out ! LoL !

It rained off and on yesterday and the pollen count dropped to just under 1600 - still in the critical area.

Started feeling better friday. Thank you. It rained. I'm not sure if I want to keep taking flonase. I just dont like the idea of medicating myself when I feel better.

I feel kinda stupid for this, last year about the same time of year. I had to blow off a cedar shake roof that was covered in pollen. I thought I got a sinus infection from it. This felt like a cold that just wouldnt go full bloom. It would go away but not fully and it would jump back and forth between a sinus infection to a chest cold but it wouldn't go fullbore cold. It lasted 3 months before it went away fully. Looking back I now know it was allergys. I have never suffered from allergys growing up with the exception of a couple times while mowing the lawn but those always went away after i cleaned up and showered.

Getting old sucks
