I have procured a storage area at the place I work, large enough to house all the parts I am stripping off the explorer I have. It will be empty as of next tuesday and that night if weather permits I will start the summer project which will include:

  1. Completely stripping the green 99 explorer, removing EVERYTHING usable including motor, transfer case, interior, headlights, tail lights, rear end.
  2. Putting motor from 99 explorer (4.0 OHV runs excellent) in to the white 98 XLT.
  3. Stripping grab handles from the 98XLT and replacing trim from my daily driver 00, fixing tail gate latch, then selling the 98XLT.
  4. Putting the interior and 4.10 8.8LS from the expo into the 00 2wd with the 5.0, then buttoning up the 5.0 to be drivable

The extra parts from the 99 expo will go on CL except for the radio bezel which I intend on keeping.

Parts that might make it for sale will include steering wheel with air bag and cruise pods, gem, transfer case, front and rear lights, 3rd light, assorted other interior parts.

The 4.0 I took out of the 98 has fresh heads but I think something went out in the bottom end. It also had a brand new timing chain and gears, tensioners, cam synch, coils, wires, and a gob of other things the guy put on just a week before the bottom end went out. It was his daughters truck so he took good care of it until it ended up with issues.

I think someone here wanted the 7.5 4.10 rear end out of the 2wd 2000? I offered it for free in exchange for help removing it?

Anyhow excited as can be to start in on this again, I needed a place to store parts before I could begin. The 2000 2wd has a cap and it is full in the back from parts off the mountaineer I gutted.

I only have the use of this storage for like 3 months so I have to get cranking. Anybody got a pile of money I can have? Didn't think so  :)

I did an entire play by play on another forum that proved not too many people are as interested in details as we may be :)

Got a few comments which barely made it worth taking the pictures. Was so burned by that place I started this place.

LOL@ plasticrap. Thanks for visiting :) Turned out more popular than I thought though it is taking forever to get on search engines.
