Damn man! You really d*cked that up! I'm assuming you are okay, otherwise you wouldn't be posting. What exactly happened? I'm thinking snow was a factor?

Looks like the tree won. Sorry bud. You're at the right place to put it all back together.

I was taking some stuff to our new place (bought a house & land!) And just slid off the road. Don't really know how or why. Was driving at a speed I thought was safe, there are lots of much hairier turns on that road.

I've been going to the new place everyday after work and sometimes in the morning and it's 10 min from the old place so I've taken that road a hundred times. Drove past that turn twice the same morning withoit trouble or slipping.

So too excited? Too tired? Too complacent/confident? Also lots of snow and ice early this year

Snapped a 6 inch cedar with the front and a couple smaller ones with the bed. I'd still say the trees won though :/

It's okay at least we still have my GF's Outb...OH NO WAIT
A 5th wheel flatbed decided to play can opener and turn her Subaru into this and throw her down the slope towards the lake:

So from 2 cars to 0 in 3 days :fp

As I said, just bought a house.
Don't like debt but at least we had 2 cars paid for and only a reasonable mortgage... i guess no more.

So now we're still renovating and supposed to move kn saturday with no wheels. Going to be interesting.
/rant off

As for the ranger.
Frame is fine, still drives, drove it a mile like that to park it at the new place.
I'll see what I do with it. I still want a ranger that's for sure.
This one needs:
Hood
Rad support
Headlight
Bumper
RH fender
2 passenger side doors
Bed
New leaf
Airbox, coolant and wiperfluid reservoirs
Inner fender,"Apron"
Peobably some more stuff

Also had a hole in the driver side door so all I can  really keep is the left side little door and left fender
..

Part out? Who's going to buy a 300000km motor even if it's in tiptop shape. (Instant start, idles so smooth I forget it's running).
Tranny has under 200k

Project?bodyswap? Trailqueen?
Don't know yet, also don't know how i'm going to get my firewood out now.
I guess i could rip off the bent steel, put in a spring and have a "farm truck"

Ok last rant:

I always said I wouldn't move again/buy a place unless it had a shop/garage. I worked in nice pro shops for work and always only had driveways to work on my stuff. So absolute dealbreaker condition.

So of course we bought a house with NO garage:fp
It's ok couldn't pass up on the nice house and 50acres of playground.

So i guess i'll start building a shop around the 2 wrecks i allready have in my yard lol

Oh did I mention that the DAY after we signed the house I lost my job?

Last couple of months have been... interesting

OMG! Talk about a series of unfortunate events! I really feel bad for you. With all that bad luck hitting you at once, it should be smooth sailing from here. Any word on a new job? It's hard to fix vehicles and build garages without income. Man, what bad luck...

Today was an early day at work so when I got home I started to coat the underside of the pickup bed with POR-15.

Installed my winter wheels yesterday. Have new Hankook Kinergy ST tires on them, so new, deep tread for the snow and ice! These tires are incredible. Softens the ride of my truck even better than my Cooper Cobras that I run in the summer.

I have found a new job since.
One lucky thing in all the bad luck I guess is that my new employment is at the same place my gf works.
Which means at least we can get by with one daily driver for now.

Givea me time to finish moving and see what I do with the ranger in spring.

It's really hard though because it's parked in the yard and I have to see it everyday.

Can't help but constanty look for a new one/a donor one/ a project/ turn what i have into a trail beast ( altough I used it as a daily driver, worktruck, playtruck, and on the land to haul wood etc.. and loved the rugged versatility )
While we just bought another outback (we like our subarus) and I really should be focussing on the house.
(Also tempted to mod the outback)

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Oh and not a scratch on both of us.(luckily the dog wasn't riding in the subaru when it happened, that would have been bad...)

Took the 02 out for a test drive after doing all the repairs to it yesterday, what a difference cleaning the throttle body, IAC, and replacing the spark plugs made, runs smooth and throttle response is a lot better.

Installed some new Projector headlamps with DRLs and halos.  Also installed my FX4 stainless steel tow hooks.  It's been a good day in the garage!

Thanks guys! @Eddie: As you will notice, this "Sasquatch" is in bad need of a wash job. I normally only take pics of it when it is pristine. It is currently 44* and windy as heck, so I'm not sure if it will get washed or not. However, a wipe down of the interior is on my agenda for today.

How is the fitment on the fender side of the new lights. I've heard some brands can leave a big gap because the side marker and head light are combined to one unit.

Fitment is acceptable, about the same as the OEM corners. I had to eliminate a bracket in order to achieve the fit. Bracket didn't really serve any purpose, so they are solid.

Okay Eddie, above are a couple of shots of Sasquatch after a very cold and windy bath! :) It was a quickie, but I'm glad I did it now that my hands have thawed out! I have a new FX4 black textured valance to put on, but I will wait until spring to do that. I might mention that I have my winter wheels and tires on it, so no fancy on the ground right now...

That looks sweet. Nice fitment, love the tow hooks, tonneau cover, and exhaust tips. I see a lot of little personal touches. Beautiful truck!!!

Thanks Eddie! :)  Yeah, lots of personal touches for sure... inside and out. I have slowly made it exactly like I want it (except for the engine). I would love to go 5.0L, but this is my daily driver so that isn't going to happen.

Now I see why you guys are after those tow hooks....$75-150 a pair!! WOWEE Ranger gold......

How is our neighbor up North? Get moved into the new house ok? Dang icy roads messing up our trucks! Be careful people!

Starting to snow here now....finally sheesh :)
