I had to use the old 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid, 1 tablespoon 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, and a half gallon of warm water mix to do a quick thaw.

I've heard that if you wipe the door seals down with silicone spray, they won't freeze.  Never tried it, so I don't if it works as a preventative or not.

I can confirm, this does work.  I do every fall, and then maybe a refresh in the middle of winter.

That's good to know.  First hand verification!  I'm gonna try that, because last time I had to beat my way around the door frame with my gloved hand until it finally opened.  Speaking of frozen things, I went to fill my gas tank Friday after work and I found my gas cap was frozen closed.  Snow melting off the bed cover had run down and behind the fuel door, making a puddle that froze around the cap.  Talk about a fun time getting that open!

Just tested the four wheel drive, we got 8" to 10" snow overnight.  So much that an actual plow did our hill, rare that they do that.  Saw probably 5 guys just loose it on the road on my way home last night

I see that here a lot.  We don't get a lot of snow, but even when we get 2-3 inches, the full-size 4x4 trucks think they are invincible and you will see them in the median a few miles down the road.  I just toot my horn and wave as I go by.  Yeah, I know that is a dick move on my part, but the way these guys bulldoze you down the road, they really have it coming.

@Eddie: You need to find a pair of stainless tow hooks to finish out the look! :-)

Just curious, what's the status of that gorgeous blue Ranger 5.0 project?

The nephews truck has a 3" body lift so I dont think the tow hooks will fit anymore, but that would look cool. Nephew is thinking about getting one of the Affordable steel bumpers.

Thank you for asking Mhoward. The 07 is making progress but parts are hard to get and slow to arrive due to so many people at home doing builds during the pandemic. There will be a future update.

Ah, okay.  Thought you had most of the parts required when you took it to 410.  Looking forward to updates!

When I dropped it off I was still learning what could be done. I knew I wanted the V8 swap, bucket seats, and bigger tires. There has been a lot of research involved in some of the upgrades and It has morphed into a more personalized truck instead of just the V8 swap but I think you guys will like it once its complete. I know I will😉

I've never had a problem with Door Seals sticking while living in New England, just park the truck in the heated garage, Who-Bam no sticky on truck body !  LoL !

Really the silicone works to keep things from sticking but to me doesn't last long enough.

Now I don't have the problem, this AM was the coldest all winter, 34 degrees outside, inside without any heat on it was 63 degrees, I can live with that.

My biggest problem back in New England was the Side Windows and the Vent Windows sticking from the cold,  ('88 Ranger STX)I wouldn't use Silicone on any windows.

I hauled a load of pine straw. It is not often, but the utility of a truck is needed.

Over the past year, I have been doing a lot of home renovation/repair.  A LOT of building materials come in 6, 8 or 10 foot lengths.  I cannot imagine trying to do this without my Ranger.  And I don't think Mama would allow me to use her Lincoln to haul that stuff...

Michael, that is why we have a pick up also. My wife has a 99 Explorer Sport, so any thing that is to big for her Explorer or is messy it goes in my Ranger.

A week ago, I broke down and had the EDGE completely DETAILED.

I can't tell you just what a change it was, I took a picture but I don't think it shows up enough to show the picture.

But It feels like a new truck... I think it even goes faster...  LoL !

I feel good driving it, I'm thinking I don't need a new one.

Here's the picture:

OK so that's not it, that's the Rat Fink with a '58 Edsel.

Here is the Ranger Picture after Detailing.

I have new Door Edge / arm Rest pieces that I need to figure out how they go in and new floor Mats.

@Scrambler82:  Lookin' GOOD!  Mine needs a spa treatment also.  When the weather here settles down and I have the kitchen finished, I have a couple of projects to do on mine.  A full wash, claybar, wax and detail interior is on the agenda. :-)
