I finally became one of "those people"
I parked the ranger, and bought a little 2009 Chevy Aveo5 LS Hatchback with the 1.6L 5 speed.

My Ranger is no longer my daily, and will now truly become, my project truck/Weekend vehicle.

I am now saving almost $350 in gas and insurance a month. (I changed coverages)

Sometimes you have to go where life takes you, I'm sure your reasons were good.

I pulled the ex cab out of my garage and let my son practice drive it over the weekend. It will become his truck when he turns 18 if he wants it.

Nothing wrong with that, Kaylee.  The money you save by driving the *cough* Chevy Aveo *cough* can be applied to upgrades to your Ranger project, not to mention when you do a lengthy upgrade, such as a 5.0L transplant, you don't have to worry about no transportation.  Good move, in my opinion! :-)

I definitely miss driving it everyday. More so, I feel safer in my "big" truck. I am a lot bigger than most vehicles on the road, so it makes me feel better. Plus, I prefer to drive it in the rain over a car. But I know it is for the better. I have been driving it all week. I am at 220 miles and I am at a 1/4 tank. It is a wonderful thing. Once I do the O2 sensor and temperature sensor (it went out, but I clear the code and it's fine). I am sure the mileage will go up as I fix it up.
It was definitely one of the best ideas I have had. I already have a new radio, and some interior lights for the car, as I am trying to make it more comfortable to drive. As my truck has bluetooth radio, interior lights, all new interior Skar Audio speakers.

Apparently in 2009, no one had bluetooth radios. Hell, the radio doesn't even have a skip or play button. So I got the dash kit from Walmart($13.00) and the radio from Advance for $45. I  gotta figure out how big the speakers are, one of them in the back doors is blown or going out. Makes an awful pounding noise whenever a song with any bass comes on.

Making your DD more comfortable is important, even if it costs a few bucks to do it.  Yeah, you're on the right track, girl!

Found my window leak... it's not the third brake light. It's the top left corner of where the window meets the cab.

Well, I did the math. I get 30-31 mpg. About 250 miles to a little under a tank. (I never let my tanks get empty).
Gas is between $1.99-$2.07 a gallon. It was $17.72 to fill up my car.

Don't complain - it would have cost you the equivalent of $50 to fill it up over this side of the pond!

That looks most unusual, like the truck has been in an accident?

The front end was smashed at one point, found the little “ears” that go past the mounting point on the core support all bent up. Fenders body lines look like crap, the doors fit fine. I got a tinted slider for the truck so I'll change it out. I got 2 weeks worth of time...

Damn man. That sucks you were affected by this whole virus thing. :/

Luckily. Motorcycle shops are kind of/sorta "essential"

Plus Florida has not (yet anyways) issued the stay-at-home law.

It is definitely coming. My shop has limited 3 customers to come in at a time until we lock the door. No children are allowed in unless they absolutely do not touch anything. And really we are limiting what people can and cannot touch.

Unfortunate we have to be this way.

Telling a child not to touch anything... well... handcuffs and duct tape maybe.  :-)

I've heard that FL has now initiated the 60+ shopping rule, 6-9 AM Shopping.

Now the remaining 50 people say they love the openness of the store during the day.
Wondering how you feel about it ?

LoL !

Well. Our shop does not open until 9AM as it is. And my boss doesn't let anyone in the building until then or even after. We bring all of our motorcycles inside that are outside or by the road. So there is basically no room to walk in it prior to that.

I have heard about that. The grocery stores and Walmart does let them early from what I know.

It just doesn't affect us much.

I drove my truck yesterday for the first time in two weeks.

I never thought I would say this, but I DO NOT MISS DAILY DRIVING THAT HOG. Oh my word. I went 60 miles, and I was on half a tank when I got home.

I did detail and give it a good cleaning. As it will be my weekend/show toy and vehicle. I gave it some love. I also realized either I am getting a   ton of axle hop, or my u-joints are going bad. I bought the u-joints (Moog re-greasable ones of course). So that'll be my weekend project this weekend. :)
Since every single gosh darn store is freaking closed. -_-

Swapped in a tinted slider into my 2003. Only took me about 30 minutes to do.

My headlights are completed, waiting for them to arrive.

My audio system is in place, sounds good just got the SiriusXM signed in, 12 month contract $5/mo... for now, oh ya plus fees $12+.

My first song was a 50's song, didn't sound bad but I need to adjust the low back fill a little lower, or maybe that is the whole system.

Drove the truck to work today. Felt good. Windows down and music blaring. I am enjoying the 45 minute commute without all the nonessentials on the road. Haha.

Now if we could only get all the "A" holes to stay home & stop going out to the stores to buy non-essential stuff because they are bored at home.
