We got over a foot last night :o
I got feet of snow off the Rangers before leaving in the Outback pushing snow with the bumper.

Really wanted to take the lvl II but it needs the battery from the '08.
I wanted to quickly switch them this morning but snow removal took up so much time I was going to be late for work.

Main roads had been cleared during the night fortunately so there was only about 3-4 inches since.

Tldr. Cleared couple of feet of snow off the Rangers then left them parked :)

I ordered some speakers for the doors and behind the seat. Kicker 44KSC6804 that were on sale from Cruchfield. I received one set of speakers but for some reason they split the shipping and I am waiting on the other box as it has the baffles and plug adapters in it. I have the passenger door panel off and speaker out.

It also snowed here on the north side of Atlanta this morning. I got about 4" before the snowfall turned into drizzling rain about noon. It's 36 degrees so it has gotten slushy.

The second box arrived at 3pm. I just finished replacing all 4 speakers. I had the driverside door that had not worked for a while and I lost a rear speaker a few weeks ago. The Kicker's sound great with the stock head unit. I put all the new speaker in with XTC baffles. It was a tight fit for the rear.

I found a beautiful pair of Kicker KSC6804s at the salvage yard in a 2000 Explorer (same one I got the leather seats from).  Paid $4.00 each for them.  Someone else took the rear ones, or I would have grabbed those also.  They sound amazing!

I got one set off of Crutchfield's "scratch and dent" for $60 and the other on sale for $90.  I added XTC baffles for another $20.  The speakers normally go for $125 at regular price.

Yeah, they are pretty pricey... that's why I was so stoked to find them at a salvage yard for $4.00.  They didn't look like they had been in there very long.  Tell me about those XTC baffles!

They are supposed to help with a crisper and cleaner sound. A cheaper way to get the sound deadening like you would with Dynamat inside the door.  They also keep crap out of the back of the speaker.

Were they hard to install?  I looked them up, but I don't see how they are installed.

The doors were easy.  The rear had to be trimmed and they bottomed out. They make a difference in the doors bu not so much behind the seat. They also took 3 times longer to get swapped out.

So, a bit pesky to install but worth the effort?

I was considering a new head unit also but funds are tight.  With the sounds coming out of it I am happy with it with just the speakers.

It's been a while since I've been on, apologies everyone. For everyone who doesn't know, me and my girlfriend are having a baby and things have been hectic trying to a) find her a car with a backseat for the car seat b) find a bigger house and c) making sure we have everything we think we'll need. But, I haven't neglected my truck. I've been accumulating funny/cool stickers over the past few months and I put them on a while ago, a couple may be offensive but I think they're hilarious. I've already caught some people reading and laughing at them and taking pictures in my rear view. Anyways, here's a picture of them lol.

Also took this picture of the trim on the inside of the door, I think it looks pretty sweet

Other than that, no other mods at the moment. Trying to save up money (spent what little savings I had on diapers, wipes, car seat and baby bed, with some clothes) to get her a car and after that, I'll try to start some progress on my vision of the dream truck.

Love the stickers!  Don't apologize for life getting in the way; it happens to all of us... like me not too long ago.  Congrats on the little one on the way!  Adam (Black06xlt) just had a new addition to his family, so he was making changes in housing size and such as well.  Pass our well-wishes on to the future mommy for all of us here at FR! :-)
