For whatever reason I forgot to mark the heater control valve when I replaced it.  Now searching online I keep seeing mixed pictures.

For a 2001, 2.3L which way does the heater control valve go?  The vacuum canister on the driver side or the canister on the passenger side when looking at the engine bay?

If on the driver side the vacuum line is on the bottom of the cup part on the valve.

If reversed and the little vacuum canister is on the passenger side the vacuum line would attach from the top.

Can't seem to find pictures indicating which is the correct way.

Thanks,
-Nigel

Ok so I am sure the vacuum valve box thing goes on the driver side...

Now does it face up or down?  See attached pictures.

Thanks,
-Nigel

D'oh! If it is the same as a 2000 2.5 I could get you a picture, hope someone knows and chimes in soon!

Found this pic online which clearly shows the vacuum hose on top... which means mine was backwards being on the bottom.  I found an OLD pic from years ago which I'm not even sure if that means anything or changes the flow?
