Price and want are directly related.

used to be a $1500 truck now it could be a $15000 truck....prices have gone nutso!

Bronco II has alot of needs.
Like you need to get rid of the anemic engine and transmission :)

My 88 looked like that when my brother first bought it, was still pretty clean when I got it.
They are some tough vehicles!! They can get into some tight situations!
I can tell you that.
I have never driven anything else that was so much fun to drive which is why I could never part with it
I would not hesitate to build a Bronco II for daily or trail use

There was a 89 ranger for sale with 60k miles all original and looked really clean selling for 2-3k. But you gotta remember it's not a stang or cuda so collectability is in our eyes only as ranger and bronco lovers we are biased. That many years even with low miles will need lots of work. Seals, hoses, and belts get dry and brittle. Unless that's the one from the factory brochure it shouldnt cost a mint. It is a very nice example and a fine survivor but I dont think to many are collecting rangers and broncos for anything other than FUN

I've offered 11K, I won't go too much higher.
If I get it, it will be the replacement for a new truck so I'm still saving a lot !
Going to TRY to keep to stock... !   Although it does need a new dah/radio section.

It's an Eddie Bauer !

p.s.   there is one thing that is going for it, if there was an engine swap in the near future, the engine harness is a separate piece.
Pull the OEM Engine Harness and you can use a FORD three-wire engine harness.

When I did the '88 STX Engine swap, putting the engine in place was more trouble than wiring the engine.

This is starting to feel good, I have to wait for the buy if at all !

IF I get it, then IF I get it at the right price...  I will have a few dollars left and I will first get a 5.0L installed with an Automatic (which one I don't know for sure).
Then a SuperLift5" lift while I am not sure of how much, 33" tires will dictate, and I would have the two above done by a shop.
A local Shop I would consider first would be Off-Road Warehouse.

Then or during, I will have to mod the dash to fit a Double Din Radio, lower the heater controls to allow room for the DD, add some switches, that's stock right !

Really for a while I just want a nice Bronco II to drive and this one fits the bill.

LOL  Yep! Absolutely bone stock! ;-)  I hope you get it for a reasonable price, it appears you want it fairly bad!

My wife used to have a 85 Bronco II w/a 2.9L V-6 & a stick, it was a fun truck to drive.

So, you've decided not to buy it?

Not completely, I am partial for the 1st Gen Ranger and BIIs, unless the guy calls back closer to my price it does look bad !

I get distracted easily, the I saw that BII I was hot to trot to buy it, even the Wife was in for the deal.

The guy I was talking to didn't think my offer was a serious offer and would come down from the 15K$... I told him when he was ready to drop ion price let me know... he told me to make another, HIGHER, offer, without even coming back with a lower price.   He wants me to get catch in a price I don't want to pay.

Exactly the same as the New Car Dealers, I mention I might bring another 10K to the table to reduce the monthly cost, the Sales guys immediately added it to the deal.
I told him I didn't say I was going to just that it was an option.   Didn't help then and won't now.

So Im guessing I will not be driving the BII, too bad because I liked it !

It's a really nice truck, but not worth 15K.  I wouldn't call them back.  Bet yours is the best offer they have received.

Funny how Dealerships work.
If they had tried to drop some I might have come up but since they didn't move I'll be waiting for them.
