Rated at 350 lb, so the piano was a bit over. The trip was about 1.5 miles of residential streets at 15 MPH with a chase car following. Also, the piano was pulled forward toward the tailgate using straps to minimize the leverage on the outside of the platform. But, yeah, even though it is a small piano, it was on the ragged edge of what's possible with that type of lift. I wouldn't have chanced it any faster or farther.
On the other hand, the lift can be really handy for transporting other things without the need for a helper or a fork lift. I've used it for an engine block, a large transmission, snow blower, etc.
