I need a brake line from the ABS solenoid to the driver's side front wheel of the '99 Ranger 4x4. It has a female connector on 1 end and a section of braided flex line in the middle. The Ford Dealer says it's obsolete. Does anybody know of a place online I might find 1?

I have 4WABS & when I needed to replace the line from the ABS unit under the hood to the l/s front wheel I got the line from the JY off a 2001 Ranger 4x4 & it fit my Ranger perfectly. When I replaced the r/s front line I made one from nicopp brake line & it worked fine.

You could also just make a new brake line using the nicopp brake line, it is very easy to bend & it flares nicely. When I made the line for the r/s front on my 2000 I cut the old line & used the long fitting that screws into the ABS unit on the new line I made.

Thanks Mike. I managed to get it fixed with regular brake line. I cut off and reused the female fitting to the ABS unit and bent it to fit. It's not being held down in the original holders now,just fastened at the the ends but it works.
Is that nicopp line you're talking about made out of brass or copper? The guy at O'Reilly's was talking about some brass or copper line that bent real easy but you had to buy it in a roll and I didn't have that much money at the time. My wife wanted it fixed before Sunday and we don't get paid until Tuesday.

Thank you very much,I bookmarked it.
Now for my next project,replacing the plastic tanked radiator in the other Ranger with an all aluminum 1,then back to this 1 to fix the horn. It's always something. lol
