With your scanner keen an eye on the engine coolant temp and see if it acts normal or jumps around temp wise... a faulty ECT can cause the computer to dump too much fuel. (However IMO it would usually effect both banks, not just one)

What are the symptoms of the P0175 code?

  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Soot or black residue from exhaust
  • Check Engine Light illumination
  • Strong exhaust odors
How does a mechanic diagnose the P0175 code?

  • Checks the fuel pressure

  • Inspects the fuel injectors for restrictions

  • Checks fuel injector pulse

  • Examines the fuel lines for pinches or cracks

  • Inspects all vacuum lines for cracks and deterioration

  • Inspects the oxygen sensors

  • Uses a scan tool to read the engine temperature, then compares the findings to an infrared thermometer

I talked to one of my buddies I served with and he agrees that it's a vacuum leak, so I'll be replacing the intake gaskets and injector o-rings on the truck this weekend.
