Sounds cool. I wonder if they sell just the flapper valve, motor, and equipment to link it to the app so you can use any muffler.

Called them today. They dont make what I'm looking for. Unfortunately the best part of this is proprietary and built into the muffler. You can buy the cutout valves from others but youd have to make or cobble together your own way to open and close the valve. The xforce has it's own motor that can be accessed via smart phone and can be set to open or close at start up, throttle position, rpm, and for each gear. I wasnt sold on their muffler but I'd buy the valve, motor, and the communicator to the smart device in a heartbeat. Dang....

Interesting idea.

That F150 has gotten thrashed often. Did you notice the puff of smoke when they demo'd the quiet side?

anyone make a bluetooth exhaust cutout?
Back in the day they made cable operated exhaust cutouts

Do you realize how loud a open header 5.0L V8 is?
My stepson drove a 97 Sploder 5.0l back here to the house yesterday, he towed it to the gate, unloaded it then drove it the two miles to the house.

He took the secondary cat converters out before trading the truck to me
...so its basically open exhaust behind the down pipes... we could hear that explorer coming for 10 minutes before he got here, my neighbor and I both had our sidearms out figuring it was some lost red neck in their mud bogger up to no good....nope it was mystep son in my new V8 sploder we horse traded for.....

LOUD and NASTY that's how stock v8 sounds with no muffler

Your 07 is going to sounds like a hot rod V8 ranger with a nice tuned exhaust.....

I would be happy to install some cutouts, from what you tell me about some of your neighbors it might be just the ticket!!

My MGB V8 (3.6 litre) has 2 inch pipes and just one big straight through silencer (muffler) on the rear section and it makes a lovely burbling note when ticking over and a quieter but purposeful growl on acceleration and cruise.

I like cutouts but I dont think it will work the way you plan to do the exhaust. What I like about the xforce muffler is the quiet start. I expect the 5.0L to be a little louder than the 4.0L. Being able to start and warm the truck up in the neighborhood quietly was the motivation for the active exhaust, opening it up once I'm on the freeway.

Just being able to open it up and make it sound more sporty (loud) is cool but wouldnt be as helpful. So just cutouts... probably not.

You could route the cut-outs to a secondary pipe and bullet muffler, and Amazon has 12 volt bluetooth controllers and relay systems. It wouldn't be hard to design your own harness.
