Some of these items you can't get on the help rack at the parts store, and searching on E-bay these days for stuff like this seems useless because all you get are packages of assortments.

It could be I don't know the proper names, or what they are even classified as at all.

So what are they called and where can I get them?

First all my rangers are 2000's. To the best of my knowledge there were only 3 interior colors. A dark grey, a lighter gray and a tan. The clips would need the interior color since they are visible.

One of these clips seems to be the same in several spots, it holds the trim under the window to the back (there are 2 of them) and a darn similar one keeps the driver kick panel in its place.

Another plastic fastener I am looking for is actually 2 piece. The spacer portion is square, and it has a smaller end that you insert in a hole, when you drive the round clip in the part in the hole spreads to keep it in the hole. It is at the top of the cover to the seat belt on the single cab and probably in the ex cab also.

I'll take some pictures but the ones I need are mostly destroyed LOL. If anyone has a clue let me know if not I'll start adding pictures till someone sees something they recognize.

Sound like the ones we have over here - the square ones often used in the engine bay.

I don't know what they are called either :fp

We have little autoparts stores that carry them but usually they are just black and need to be painted to match the interior

I know black06xlt is buying houses and making babies but that's who I'd call for those parts. Easier and probably faster to find a good used one at the JY than to try and find them new online or at a part store.

Google search engine needs an update. Its been getting harder to find things even if you have the correct search term due to people miss tagging or over tagging.

Google search for most ranger stuff usually takes you to a F150 part, even when the add itself says ranger!!! Drives me nuts because I get my Hope's up then go to the page and my dream gets crushed. Makes me kinda hate the popularity of the F150s.

The basic trouble with Google search is that it is pretty dumb - to make it produce better results put your search words in as a phrase between inverted commas.

E.g. instead of  - Ranger steering wheel - use "Ranger steering wheel", then it does not return results with just steering or wheel without the ranger. :hair

Agree. Parentheses will make the search results more specific to your search. But you'll still have a lot results that are for the F150. I have no idea why they tag F150 stuff with ranger.

The only problem with getting them from a JY is if the ones that Jim is talking about they usually break when removing them.  Jim, I found these at Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Roof-Panel-Garnish-Clips-N806344-S/dp/B0040CTZJ6/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=N806344-S&qid=1565809324&s=gateway&sr=8-1

These are the ones I used to replace the ones I broke removing the rear interior trim under the rear window when I had the trim off replacing the window, & I used one for the drivers side kick panel.

Yeah! That is close to the one only problem my interior is light gray but I have much more fuel for the fire thank you Mike.

Even when you can get them out they are usually damaged on the shank and only work in one position.

I'll post what I find. Was nice driving it today though I love that truck.

Jim, I have a light gray interior too, what I did I purchased a spray can of medium graphite interior paint & painted the black ones to match my gray interior. I also used it to paint the new a pillar trim when I installed the a pillar grab handles, It was a perfect match.

Ugh I don't paint. I would screw it up. If it doesn't have an exact X Y Z coordinate, a DC voltage or AC frequency I'm kinda lost.

I don't know what it is I just can't get paint right regardless of easiness.

Sounds stupid eh?

Painting isn't that hard. Just remember to wear a respirator. All it takes is practice.

AUTOMOTIVE CHRISTMAS TREE FASTENERS
or XMAS tree fasteners

believe it or not that's the name I have always used, try that in your google search, here is one specifically for grey

https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS751US751&q=automotive+christmas+tree+fasteners+grey&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjAveCM0YfkAhVSj54KHeEnC7UQsAR6BAgDEAE&biw=1920&bih=969

The other ones you describe are called "Push in rivets"
Polaris uses them on EVERYTHING

Lucky for me in Denver we had a place called "B&D Rhynil" on Broadway near downtown, those dudes carry everything from bar stool vinyl to door trim to canvas for convertible tops, all interior style clips, paints, anything upholstery or interior trim. So I had access to these parts long before they showed up in the help section and long before we had the internet (Thanks Al Gore!)

Jim,
Did you ever get the Clips you needed.

As stated above Clips and Fasteners .com was a winner for me.

Get a picture of the Clip you want IF you cant find it yourself, and send it to them, they helped me that way and I got a perfect match for my Interior Panel Mounting Clips...  "No Painting" !
