So is a 98 the exact same  as a 99-2000  as far as the explore wireing  goes? Found a.sweet 98 blown 3.0 ranger, but I've never worked with the 98.stuff. I know 98 didnt have PATS, that no biggie. Can have it deleted out of the computer

There were even a few minute differences between 99 and 00 as far as crash detection and engine sensors.

Yes the 98 was different  but I like them. Neither 98 nor early 99 had that RCM so you can gain a lot of floor space.

I said early 99 because I have seen one 99 that did have the RCM. Might have been a repurposed VIN lol

Appreciate the info. Been reading and I think in fact 98 just doesn't have PATS.. same wiring . So that's good. Picking it up this weekend.  6 hours away.. good little road trip through the back hills never hurt anyone.
