 Looking to put forscan tips and tricks, issues in here.
As a lot of us know Forscan is a virtually free but semi complicated software that ties in with a few different OBD2 interfaces that does much more for your ford than most other scanners. Besides just reading and clearing codes it can adjust certain parameters of things that teeter on the edge of being dangerous LOL including pats programming.
I bought a BAFX products blue tooth OBD2 plug and it works super with forscan on the computer and with a couple other apps ion my phone (Torque pro seems to be by far the most popular).
I was able to read my codes on my ranger(s) easily and clear the codes for testing, I didn't get in to the extended features. Yet.
So in this thread I'm looking for Forscan users success stories, and eventually some tutorials on how to use the finer points of this incredible software.

 I've been using it for quite some time now, it's as close to IDS as you can get without buying it. Really good app/software that raises ones ability to diagnose and service Ford vehicles as, in part, it provides wayyy more information and data than typical OBDII scanners.

 My son (TheArcticWolf1911)got me started with ForScan. I (we) have used it a bazillion times for various things... most notably PATS programming. I cleared out all the old keys on my truck and programmed the original key back in along with 4 other keys as spares.

So yes, a ForScan thread would be great for tips, tricks and troubleshooting problems. Great idea!

 I have a forscan question. I was under the impression that for full functionality you needed to have it tied in to a lap top.
I saw the bearded anthony with it on a phone in his video about enabling autolock.

How does the mobile version compare to the laptop version?

Since I'm a wall to wall ubuntu linux guy I have to borrow a laptop from my son to use forscan and have only went as far as clearing codes and reading LTFT to see if I had an injector problem or if it was indeed one of my upstream O2 sensors.
I was able to tell it was probably a sensor problem, replaced the O2 sensor, cleared the code and it never came back. Yay.

So I guess my question is can you do the same things in mobile and/or wine as you can in windows with forscan? What are the wine limitations?

Android gives you quick on the fly code reading and PID viewing.

To do bilateral controls (telling a control unit to do something or actuate something), program keys, change as-built data, and perform service functions you will have to go with a PC.

 Windows laptop configured, bluetooth adapter on and confirmed working, forscan loaded, extended license trial in place.

I'll hook it to the car tomorrow and get a feel for some of the controls before asking a bunch of dumb questions.

I did read and reset some codes a few months back, and diagnosed a bad upstream O sensor. Replaced it, cleared codes, no return.

Said "sluggish response" I forgot the rest.

Even with the bad O sensor this truck ran great and still does.

 A couple of months ago Forscan upgraded the Android app to add Mode $06 capability. Great for diagnosing a misfire especially if you don't have a pending code or a P0300.

Fords don't have individual cylinder misfire count PIDs like GMs do. They just have a total misfire PID. Using mode $06 will help you figure out which one is really misfiring by looking at test id $53.

 I haven't actually used forscan on my ranger at all. I have used it a bit on my super duty to change as built data to adjust tpms, drl's and a few other things. I need to buy a new obd2 adapter that has the switch so i can adjust a few more things like access port power times and the dash read out(I want to add a dpf gauge and actual numbers to the temp gauges.)
