Please note that this is one of less than 14 examples commissioned by the Ford Motor Company.
With less than 7,300 miles from new, this custom convertible pickup truck is nicely optioned with a five speed manual transmission, custom wheels, driving lights, and every power option. Original dealer brochure.

Update!!! Got this info from someone responding to the listing....so it may be correct and the info that was given to me and printed in auction catalogs was wrong! I am posting this as a possible correction until proven wrong. Marc

"Just for reference, these trucks were not built by ASC, they were developed and built by Bob Kaiser and my father at a company called Professional Auto Crafters. Also, they were not commissioned by Ford but rather they were built as a privately funded short run and pitched to Ford as a third party conversion to be sold on Ford dealer lots. (very much the same as ASC did with the Mustang, Dakota, Camaro, Etc.) Ford passed on the concept and that was the end of the SkyRanger and Professional Auto Crafters."

I think its ugly as sin itself (maybe due to the red paint) but it may blow someones skirt up.. lol

I remember a magazine article about the SkyRanger back then. There was a fad converting mini pickups into convertibles and lowering them.

Yea but thats because the Nissan Hardbody P/U and the Mazda B2000 looked good. I didnt particulary care for the whole dancing/spinning bed craze but... 6 - 15" speakers filling the bed like punch bowls was kinda cool back in the day.

Remember when Chrysler/Dodge came out with the 90's Dakota as a Vert? That truck looked kinda cool lowered like that. Was a Green one running around the Downriver area back in the day. Green neon lights under it, nice wheels - non chrome, and not too much done to the outside, minimalist look; less is more.

But that 90's prior Ranger ^^^.. sorry but that thing is about as aerodynamic as a cinder brick.
