I have FINALLY got a couple of my Ranger, Mazda, Sport Trac, Super Duty B.O.A.T. (Brightest Of All Time) 3rd brake light LED conversions finished & ready to go.
I only do a few of these each year & I just got these Cargo Light models done in time for Christmas!
I also have a couple of them in the solid red versions too.
I start with original Ford 3rd brake lights that I completely sand & polish back to a like new finish...maybe even better than new.
Then I remove part of the back of each one, fill & shape the housing to prepare them for my LED conversions.
I designed & created my own Aluminum heat sink to which I attach the high power LED's. The aluminum helps to dissipate heat as well as acting as a mounting surface.
Once completed, I refurbish the original gaskets and I even use the OEM Ford connectors for a 100% plug-n-play swap.
These are the "BOAT" model and are the brightest I've ever done & may be the brightest I'll ever do... unless I find some even higher powered LED's to try out.
