Ford Ranger (98-11) Rockrails/RockSliders

Rocky Road Ford Ranger Rock Sliders are the creme' de la creme' of the rocker protection world. We use 3/16" inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything other than hitch steel is just plain flimsy.

We use thick inner hitch steel to make sure your bars do NOT bend! Anything else is just plain flimsy. Most other Ford Ranger Rock Sliders are made from thin 1/8" or less than walled tube material. A lot of shops refer to these as Nerf bars. an appropriate name since they will offer about as much protection to your vehicle as a Nerf toy product would.

>> Need a little proof?

Why not go with a lesser gauge steel to save production costs?

Because we wouldn't trust anything less to protect our vehicles and neither should you! Besides, since these Rock Sliders carry a ** LIFETIME GUARANTEE **, we don't want to have to replace them for you for free every couple years or so. We made them indestructible so they'll last forever and they are guaranteed forever, NEVER to bend on you!

Our Ranger Rock Sliders are very simple to install and are completely 'bolt on', our rock slider kits can be installed by anyone at home. No vehicle cutting or modification is needed. Instructions outline the simple bolt on process for installation.

Save money doing it yourself and you'll be shocked at the short installation time!

Those sliders look really nice. Any chance we could get a pic of each version from a better angle so we can see the difference between each option.

Absolutely, Here is a close up of whats called a Rock-Rail Slider only. It's very minimalist but super functional as is.

Then there is our most popular selling version because not only does it offer the Rock Rail feature, the Super Slider aspect sort of wraps around the lower rockers of the vehicle protecting the sides a little bit and provides a bit of a step up or on feature for entry assistance or to reach roof racks. In some cases the angle of the tube stock can be altered some for those with body lifts, both common on our Nissan Xterra/Frontier guys.

Then we have whats called a Kick Slider, this provides the Rock Rail and an actual step for those who really want more than just protection and Slider function, they want a physical full step and with a wider kick out just before the rear wheel for better bed access as well as roof access needs.

I watched the Video, the Slider took a good hit and didn't seem to faze it.
Ilike the "Kick Slider" and the "Super Slider", just wish they were available for a 2003 Standard Cab extending to the rear wheel.
I didn't really get a good idea of the mounting from the picture, are these secured to the frame or body ?

Thx / Ltr

Thanks for the additional pics.

Are there different finishes? I saw some were bare steel and some looked painted or powder coated. When I went to the order page I didnt see any choices for finish. I was looking at the kick sliders.

Com-on 12o NI, it has been a day !
Are we pulling the Covid card ?  LoL !
I looked on your Site at these Sliders, I talked to you before about the Single Cab version
, AND I still want the Single Cab Version, but not sure where this is going .
I'm thinking, "APPROXIMATELY" 78.7" but measurements will need to be taken to be sure... IF that helps ! LoL !

We are working on that.. With (3) Rangers in our own stable, its difficult to explain why we haven't thrown a set on ours too and then people give you that eye look, you know the wincing one of confusion that makes it go a lil bloodshot and that vein pop out the temple look..

Yea, thats the one

They actually have a triangulated design feature to them which is why they dissipate the hit they're able to sustain.  I'd make another funny about that but we don't live in that kind of world that gets humor anymore.

Eddy, sorry I responded to your DM first before seeing this.

The finish differences are they came powder-coated with no added coast to the end user as part of the deal, we could probably do them up bare steel but we've honestly never had any ordered as such yet.

Over the years the powder-coating was that of a much more smoother and paint like finish as it blended in with days of the old CJ5-8, XJ, ZJ's.  But with changes in styling and new vehicles coming now with panels, body cladding, and wheel well trim with a texture, the Powder-coating now has a really nice finish that blends in with those new vehicle aesthetics.. the consensus has been people like it better.

Funnies are always good in my book, I'm not sure why people are so p!ssed off all the time... relax... enjoy... !

I was hoping by now to have these Sliders mounted to the Steppie but no big deal, just the usual harassment.

Is there any close-up picture of the mounting ?

I'm thinking the Kicker Sliders but the Super Sliders looks good too, we will see how this goes !
Thanks for the reply !

I contact ed the Manufacturer, hsii response is good and bad.
The Bad Side, there won't be a Single Cab Short Bed Slider in the near future.
They did say it is possible, IF they happen to have one of their Investigation Days and there happens to be a Truck like mine in the mix, then they could start producing one.
My thoughts are I will be too old to drive before that happens, too bad I liked these Sliders, the Kicker Sliders !

Thanks to anyone who has put me in the right direction and to 12o NI for stocking great product and to Manufacturer for their input !

Thanks for the reply !

Because in the last 25 years, the parents that be didn't parent, and the children are now offended at the sight of their own shadows..
But I digress.

I don't really have any close ups of the actual triangulation like mounting. The Kicker sliders, in my personal opinion are super functional, I just prefer the SuperSliders because they're more streamlined protection for my needs.  I will likely have to worry about a door ding or a rock ding coming up/down a rock shelf here in Nevada, Utah, or Arizona more so than needing to stand up on them.

I call the younger generation the Trophy Generation, everybody get ones, no broken hearts, no learning that to get the Trophy you need to work at it, excel in what you do, how you play the game, especially the game called life.   I had friends that didn't even know what it wa like to have the father's get PO'd at them, never had restrictions... I told my parents once that so-in-so didn't have to do certain things, they didn't have chores to do, they came home and would go to their rooms and what ever... they told me I could go to live there if I wanted to, I never did and thank GOD for little miracles.   I don't degree, I have no one to tell me I won't buy your product if you don't speak nice to me, so I'm good to go.

The Super Slider would be (is) my first choice but functionality beckons for use of the Bed Box and not wanting to step on the Plastic Step on the Steppie Bed.
If 12o has any pull, please talk to the manufacturer about a Single Cab, Short Bed, Slider, they did say they would do something IF there was an "opening"... not sure how wide an opening they need but I offered my truck up as a Prototype Platform but  UT is a little too far to run up there.

As for the Single Cabs, again still working on it, We were going to set our demo rig up for mock up and well, some things changed the schedules all around on us.  We're still working on the idea.

That was probably one of the best functional mods to be put to use.  Which (yr) of the lucky 6 in your Ranger infantry will be receiving that and is it a 4.0L or 3.0L engine bay?
