https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/...cket-drops-pricing-that-angered-millions.html

"Photobucket's experiment with being a $399.99 premium service is over, and so to is the tenure of the CEO who led it. The Denver-based photo storing service on Thursday revealed it has slashed its prices and restored millions of photos around the internet hoping to mollify millions of customers it angered last year.

“It's the first step of many to restore the trust of customers,” said Ted Leonard, Photobucket's new CEO.

He became CFO at the 15-year-old company in October, after it surprised users worldwide by starting to charge $399.99 for hosting a large number of photos and being able to post them on third-party blogs, ecommerce sites and elsewhere."

Apparently in an effort to resurrect itself.. Or still find itself in business at all.

Now the new prices start at:

  • $1.99 per month for 10 gigabytes of images stored
  • $3.99 monthly for 20 gigabytes
  • $8.99 for two terabytes of storage.

All the plans enable third-party hosting for a $2.49 monthly add-on price.

Nope. Still going to use the gallery. Never did use photobucket at all, not once.

Since I've been "internetting" I have had a website of some sort, meaning I had hosting of some sort.

THOUGH my disgust with the way other hosting companies operated did make it painfully obvious I had to do something on my own.

I removed all of my photos from the PhotoBucket (PB) Site, and deleted things I didn't want.

I didn't close my account but there is nothing there now so I guess I did but I am not going to start again.

Not that I will make or break the company but to me they need to learn a lesson and if all of us do not go back to PB, then maybe they will get the point. It appear it has already hit home, financially and the company has made some moves !

Good Luck to them, time for something new.

Time for U-Tube to figure t out too !

I left all my photos up there just to add to there costs of storing them and have since moved everything over to google services which I am already paying for.

pbotobucket really screwed themselves. they used to have few ads in exchange for hosting your pics & videos, then they decided it was a good business model to make it 99% impossible for you to find your own pictures in less than an hour & eliminated their free 3rd party site linking.
i didn't mind a few ads for hosting stuff, but when they started sending me emails offering their previously free service for something insane like $399.00 a month, they lost me.
only way i'll upload there now is if they pay me for each image or video i upload & for everytime someone views them.
