I have been averaging at least 2 recalls per year on my '13 Fusion SE. It has the 1.6L EB and gets phenomenal highway mileage (37mpg) and only what I think is crappy city mileage for this car (23 mpg). I rarely drive it except on trips and I am averaging about 8k per year on it. I had washed and waxed it the day before I took it in.

I had a thermostat upgrade and seatbelt recall that needed to be done. The seatbelt would take 2 hours and the thermostat 8 hours. I dropped it off yesterday about 10AM. There was about $1500 on the bill to be charged back to Ford. I was able to pick it up at 4 pm today.

There were two other people picking up their vehicles before the valet go bring my car around. Both were dripping with water as they had been run through the dealerships car wash. My car finally come around and it is covered in pollen and bird  . I asked the valet why my car was not washed and apparently there is "executive service" package that covers it but they would be glad to run it through for $25. Nope, gimme my car.

The valet was a little skinny guy sort of like the guy in Captain America before he had the procedure. When he got out of the car he did not slide the seat back so I had to do that just to sit down. Driving home I also notice the date and time are not set on the clock. These are minor annoyances but a little customer service like resetting the clock after disconnecting the battery and sliding the seat back do show that you are trying to do a good job and not meet the minimal standard.

It was more than just the thermostat. Apparently the 1.6L EB has a tendency to loose coolant and overheat and it can crack the head or set the car on fire.

BTW: Avoid anything with the 1.6L EB in it
