The idea of a time limit to edit a posting is a good idea, it makes it impossible for a member to change the posting based on information learned after others have posted...  but sometimes we do not get back to a posting within the 24 hr limit and with this "WTF-Auto-Correct" you never know what was left behind you after posting.

I try to read over the posting either once I have typed it in or after posting it to the site BUT there is always that one word that auto-correct decided wasn't right and changed it AND it didn't get caught in the reread.

First, please change the word "Stand" to Stang" in Thread, "https://ford-rangers.com/view_topic.php?id=394&forum_id=1&jump_to=5761"... post #7 !  Thank you !

Second... lets increase the time limit on editing posts, I for one think at least 48 hrs is needed, two days instead of one, maybe three days - 72 hrs. !?!

I can post  something this AM and not get back to reread my posting for a day or two, even the next morning is too late with 24 hrs.

Thx for reading,  Merry Christmas

I brought this up quite some time ago, not so much being a concern about how long to permit editing but rather, how there is  zero tolerance on editing a post at anytime without it being "branded". The rational for bringing this up in the first place was to give people the chance to edit a typo or other minor correction/inclusion, the wishful outcome would have been to maybe add two minutes or so like many other forums do. And......nothing changed or was acknowledged. At any rate, Merry Christmas!

I understand the implications of letting the Post Open, it would quickly loose its original intent.

By leaving it open a little longer it would allow people like me, old and too fast with the quick post, to get back to their posts and see how badly the auto-correct screwed up the original message.

I posted what I thought was a good message and didn't notice an auto-correct, I was headed out the door at the same time, so it was a quick post. When I noticed the misspelling the next morning, it was too late to fix it !

My OCD kicks in and I need to see it corrected, just to kind my ind in the right place !

Not to carry on too much more about this because I am getting used to it but I posted and went back approximately 5 hours later and noticed a "missed Computer replaced word" and wanted to change it back to what I wanted and couldn't do it !
What happened to the 24 hours ?

Before you ask, I didn't make a note on which Thread but next time I will and then send another message or post it up, so I can get it fixed.
