So we go to web pages, we want to view content. We get popups saying we are the one millionth viewer and have won a prize. The next 26 places we visit we get the exact same popup.

So we switch browsers. Maybe you have to claim the prize and nobody does that's why everyone on every site is the one millionth viewer? Maybe not SO

We install an ad blocker.

Now no videos play on any site, they just spin. When we inquire about why, the response is "Disable your ad blocker and allow tracking cookies".   ?

I understand sponsorship, but on this site I will not have ads pop up every refresh. They are on the right side, if you want to click on them do if you don't, you can just ignore them. Maybe that's why I am going broke.

It just bothers me that I have to allow the good people to track me when I know good and well I am being tracked anyway without my consent. I pay to dish out content on the internet just because I think it is the right thing to do. GRRRRRR. End of rant.

I have ad blocker plus and all the videos work just fine - maybe it is just the dodgy websites you visit ?? :whatever:

However, the latest update of ubuntu / firefox is buggy and won't play DRM content at all - had to load a fresh firefox from mozilla.

Most of them originating in the UK I bet.

Hey Di is hooked on that "Most Haunted" show filmed over there, it would seem there are 300 year old haunted castles on every street corner is this your observation? If so it would be as easy as finding a 7-11 in the 70's here in the US.

I don't buy any of it but it is cheap entertainment looking over my left shoulder at the TV while I'm surfing for dodgy web videos.

Oh yes, we have a haunted house in every village, usually conveniently sited next to the village pub, store and guest house - all specially advertised for the tourists.

Any self respecting ghost would move out and find somewhere quieter.

Just one of many trash programs made to fill in the American style TV channels -  we never had this in the days when we only had 3 channels - nowadays finding anything worth watching is difficult and I would never pay a commercial channel for viewing.

Can you spot the ghost in the queue for the supermarket tonight? (used to be Safeways before they pulled out of the UK)

Behind the camera?

And I find Top Gear hilarious, the older ones.

No - just behind the doors - yes, the old Top Gear programmes were funny, rude and more about 3 lads larking about in cars than a serious car programme - there were other series on other channels for that sort of thing. The BBC never understood that the audience watched because of Clarkson & Co and when they left the show lost its appeal.

I remember watching little clips of Mr. Bean to a LONG time ago before that horrible movie. He was very funny kinda like pee wee herman on steroids. So I saw the movie and it sucked so badly maybe a couple funny scenes at all. Those short clips from the past were very funny IMO.

And the wife is on a Red Rock binge. Half way through season 2. BTW: What up with having 70 episodes in a season?

I always thought Mr. Bean was perfect for short clips.  You want to appreciate the genius of Rowan Atkinson, check out Black Adder.
