My employer announced today that anyone who can file for unemployment and will file, should, so those who cant may continue to have work and income due to new guidelines for essential workers in Washington. I will be on standby till further notice.

Our unemployment claims here in COlorado jumped 1500% in one week.  It was taking people up to 7 days to file online.  I think it has gotten better, but it's crazy.

And my retirement job as a school bus driver is considered critical. Students are at home not doing the on-line classes while I am working just under 2 hours delivering Title 1  free lunches to the school route that qualifies in my district to maintain the federal free lunch money for next year. Due to the critical need for bus drivers they are paying us our contracted 7 hours and will be until we start hauling students back to school. My 35 hour a week job was racking up an average of 45 hours per week before this happened so I would get 10 hour OT per pay period. No OT now but I am only working 10 hours a week for a 35 hour guaranteed paycheck till the end of July. We will not be hauling students until April 27 at the earliest if that happens.

I am moonlighting as a rollback wrecker driver. It is a license to steal. I work 6 hours from noon to 6pm. In two days I make more doing this than I do for a weeks pay as a bus driver.  BTW: AAA is a rip off. You are better off negotiating a tow. Cash is king.

Oh the repo man cometh!!
That is good money
I wish I had a rollback....oh man
Just be happy to still be working
MANY MANY are out of work completely and starting to really really freak out. My brother in law (In denver) is one of them. My stepson here (mounts tires) was just let go and his wife (vet clinic) has the worst timing ever! She had just given her two weeks because she found a better more high paying job at medical clinic (shes a NA) well the new place is not hiring right now and the vet had to lay people off...so her two weeks were up they cut her. So now they are both out of work. Filing for aid....but still freaking out. This is happening all over America and all over the world!!
Scary stuff. Usually in times of "war" or tragedy Americans come together and get to work! Now we are being told to stay home.....strange times indeed. It goes against our grain.
US digital dollar, 2 trillion of them in "emergency spending" ........ lord help us

No repo work. It is the idiot drivers we have crashing into each other or driving off the road. Now that there are fewer cars on the road there are higher speed crashes with larger debris fields. I only worked 2 tows yesterday and nothing so far today.

I once joked with my friends that I wanted to be a tow truck driver. They told me I'd have to tow high end cars like Lamobs, because I'd laugh at the idiots that crashed. But, if I ever towed a Ranger... well I would get fired!

I can't remember a Ranger. I usually get the "dead vehicle" jobs to p/u and deliver to a repair shop. Sometimes is is a wreak out of the storage area but mostly out of somebody's driveway to a mechanic. No work today.
