Just a FYI: local, state, and federal parks are open and in most cases free. The facilities are being serviced, disinfected and they have toilet paper...

You know.. seeing a lot in mainstream Media news, seeing some contradictions (slight) and all I see is   shut down.  I can't find a single person whose seen or knows of anyone with this yet... despite the posted calculations. and as much as I been going back to H1N1, there is MORE being said about this than that was and that touched 60M people... Sooooooooo ? ? ?

This looks more like a dry run to see what push-back would be

I had similar thoughts but a couple of weeks later, back in Colorado we do have some dear family friends now, mom dad and daughter all on ventilators.....
I read about the construction of this virus and how it works.... pretty crazy stuff! Mutant engineered whatever you call it its scary for those who it does affect closely and it does exist..... its spreading, and its hard to stop

My daughter in law works in the emergency dept of the local hospital - they lost a 20 year old to the virus this week - it exists and is deadly for some but mild for most.

The US is now 3rd for number of cases after China and Italy and will likely outrun everywhere else.

There are a number of stupid, arrogant and reckless people who think they know better or stand on their rights to do what they like - they have NO right to endanger the lives of others.

People will not necessarily know they are carrying the virus, some are asymptomatic, how would you feel if it turns out that you passed the virus on to someone you love and they die as a result?

Just treat this as a war against the virus and stay away from people, please.

It is being taken seriously Chris, I'm still not going to fill my basement with toilet paper and 32 packs of bottled water because that is ridiculous. The shortages of common items is because of the hysteria projected by the mainstream media. Well not any more it is because of the sheeple that are affected by it.

Hospitals that need the N95 masks cannot get them because wealthy private sector US citizens mass ordered them for themselves, driven by hysteria.

Instead of staying home sheeple went from large department store to department store crowded with other sheeple to stock up on supplies for an apocalypse they caused by being out in public.

The virus is bad, I get it. That doesn't change the fact everyone went crazy. If half the world dies it will be because 80% of the world was out at meier and walmart buying much more than they needed. Elderly slower people are getting hungry because young overweight NBC CBS ABC CNN watchers thought they had to have 150 LBS of toilet paper and 100's of cans of soup that will go bad before they can feasibly consume it.

The USA is "done with" as of this week, politically, financially and psychologically. The virus will come and go and take many with it. It will go and be done with. This USA I do not recognize at this point will NEVER recover from the damage the hysteria did, not the damage the virus did.

My neighbors dad had a good point the other day, he said "if your gonna get it, it would be best to get it now while there are still some beds and ventilators"....
Scary thought indeed!!
We got 1/2" of snow last night, good we need the moisture.
Hard to shelter in place if your shelter is on fire.
Here's to a speedy recovery to those effected and to the economy and people! Stay strong, be smart.

It's not just affecting people. Luckily I had a repeating order of cat litter scheduled with chewy or the cats would be using real sand. Lol. Cat litter is just as hard to find as toilet paper in stores...yes, in an emergency they could go outside.

or the cats can practice "stacking" like Californians have to do during a drought :)

Amazon employees are getting the virus, interesting to see how this plays out.... I know some hospitals are keeping half the staff at home and half at work so in case they need to swap them around. Maybe Amazon will do similar

Not while people cram themselves together on public transport and in the stores - this afternoon our local store finally introduced a queuing system to get in with everyone separated by 6 feet and limiting the numbers inside the store.

Glad to hear it.

I went down to get some shopping and my meds from the in store pharmacy this evening. There is a girl on the entrance offering hand gel for you to use and wipes for the basket handles. Hardly anyone in there and they have blocked off the top ends of the aisles so you  have to queue at a safe distance to get to the checkouts. They have made it as safe as possible for people.

Many gaps on the shelves, no sugar, but I grabbed the last packet of potatoes, the last bottle of washing up liquid, a couple of bottles of Chianti and a few other bits & pieces. We have enough to last a week so I shan't be shopping again till next Wednesday.

We had our first employee call in sick this morning. Symptoms are head and stomach ache, and chills. Could be hangover, covid stress, or a bad excuse for a mental health day.

We have been given the option to shelter if we feel the need.

I'm hesitant to join the millions on unemployment and not thrilled to spend that much time with mother... lol

I wont lie, I've had a few panic attacks and the stress of everything has worn me down a lot. Chatting with everyone here has been very helpful at easing my fears!!!
