Sounds like a bit of a sway in size but I am starting to look for 40 - 120 acres of property here in Nevada. I am kind of torn on whether I want all flat land or backed up to a canyon or a mountain if nothing else. In any event all could be made to do the same things but slightly different venues.
Vegas is rather unique in the sense that from the strip downtown, nearly 40-55 mins in any direction and civilization pretty much ends and since we dont have the 91 fwy like traffic or that kind of snow fall here, I'd be willing to drive nearly just maybe about over an hr to get to work if I had too to have what I want.

Several plans in order but one of the things I want to find out is how far out I may have to go in order to be able to create a dug in style private gun range. Nothing too ridiculous for the most part but def something where I can do an out door range. otherwise. Its back to the shipping container range idea again..

Maybe, i'll get a chance to scan in my sketches and get some helpful critiquing on my designs and ideas..

I'm sure an internet search could answer these questions, but

1 - How far does the sound of a gun shot travel?
If making earth trenches 100 yards out helps?

2 - How close is the nearest hospital/ER? We never intend for accidents to happen, but we should be prepared for worst case scenario...

2 - Is it legal? Most places in the county you should be fine, but are you talking a for immediate family? private (club)? membership fees? public? This will make a difference for permits and insurance. Which will probably make or break the idea

I actually wanted to do a graded pit and berm the 3 sides and be able to not only do multiple targets/distances but some additional creative works..

I mean I am a Lifetime Member at Front-Sight where they actually have 1, 2, 4 day courses on everything from Hand guns to rifles, Shooting out of a car as well as into one but I want that and a touch more for myself. I know.. weird But if I can have it, I want it. lol
