I really laughed. I'm a machine nerd.

I have made a few of those mistakes, most of which were not properly setting the piece being worked on.

I am an amateur machinist. I learned welding from an uncle when I was a teenager. We had a Bridgeport and metal lathe on the farm when I was growing up so I picked up a few things. Fast forward 35 years where my last job I was migrated off being an electronic tech because I was a better machinist than the guy we had working in the machine shop and that was a higher priority.

I could see some of those screw ups coming... "Self taught" alright.

I was a Tool & Diemaker for 20 years and got out of the business 25 years ago.

Yes Chris, when we bathe or wash dishes LOL.

Some of the coolest running modern inserts are engineered to run at high speed and feed with no coolant (what we call it here in the US). I have a couple, one is a 3/4 triple insert from Sumitomo that I can send in to 4140HT .05 DOC 2800RPM 12/14 IPM and it doesn't get hot. I have some cbn inserts I cannot use coolant on or they will explode. Mostly lathe on those.

Lol - washing in suds would at least leave your skin soft, if a bit slippery......
