One of the many projects I've had on the back burner for a while.
LED conversion on my 03 Explorer tail lights.
These started off as a stock/aftermarket set of tail lights... major mods to the back of the housing to hold my PVC adapters & aluminum heat sinks. Everything got epoxied & molded into the housing where they look like Ford should have made them.

Each side's parking lights has 3x 1w red LED's, each reverse light has 3x 1w white LED's & each side's brake/turn signals have 12x 1w red LED's.
For comparison, my solid red 3rd brake light led conversions for Rangers only use 9x of those led's... and they're normally way brighter than the brake lights guys are running.
Right now, my parking lights are brighter (by far) than even the previous plug-in LED's I've been running for a few years... and those plugin's are brighter than the incandescent bulbs.
The electronics are held in a small project box that got mounted behind the tail lights. These required no additional wiring modification either, I used 3156 & 3157 bulb bases so they simply plug into the OEM bulb sockets.

I'd like to find another set or two of these 03-05 Explorer tail lights to make a couple more sets of these, so if you're a junkyard hunter hit me up!
Also have a set of 06-11 ranger tails I plan to do a similar LED conversion to in the near future.
I did a set of 01-05 ranger tails for my truck a year or so ago & they're still bright as can be! I have a couple sets of 01-05 tails that are waiting to be modded in a similar manner to these if anyone is interested in a set of them.
I have a set of 95-97 ranger tails & a couple sets of random mid to late 90's era explorer tails I may mod if there's any interest.

I'm up for trying other vehicles as well.
