I have been asked dozens of questions past coupe days, I'll try to cover a few here but if I don't get to them all feel free to bug me. My memory isn't what it used to be like 30 years ago :giveup

Anyhow:

1. Links to other forums. Let's be real here,we ALL belong to multiple boards and know they exist. If a link to the other article is relevant to the topic 100% and enhances the members experience here I don't mind it. Blatant advertising of another board in open forums will be frowned upon though, I will deal with that on an individual basis.

2. Project logs section. RF calls it project logs, FRF calls it project logs, TRS buries it in their overcrowded plethora of specialty sections. I originally thought the separate year sections could cover projects of that year (like they do over on one of the ramforum). Maybe I under thought the importance of having sections for the projects in one area, it is why I join other boards. So one will be created, looking for suggestions on the name I don't want to be labeled a "copycat".

3. Speaking of copycat, I REALLY like the way that TRS has some tech articles on separate pages. Let's do a how to section like suggested but the really detailed ones I would like to construct pages for that spreads them out. These pages get crawled and usually come up in searches instead of the forum threads. Been reading TRS articles for years, some day I would like someone to say the same thing about FR.

4. Recent posts or perhaps a new routine "posts since last visit" will be added to the top menu. Recent first so it can be displayed in all windows and if development time permits I'll work on the posts since last visit. It will be more intense since it is a user based query and not a general board info query.Has to be thought out.

5. well there probably was a 5 but my brains hard drive is full LOL I have to purge a few things to make room for others.

Personal/Professional thoughts.. A "Build Pages", "Buildup Showcase Threads", "Member Rides" [dont particularly care for the last one but] page, separated from the usual conjecture of would be model specific banter I think is a better idea, especially for site searching needs. I think it does bring some relative exclusivity to the member(s) and I think for both membership experience and new member attraction.. that may become important.  That's just my $0.02

I would like to see a section that would attract vendors for more than just the obvious group buys & discounts.., but NEW product releases, Product reviews, commerce connections and growth, and more importantly.. VENDOR reviews AND Vendor Support like the old forum days.
I think a forum, if its giving its space and banner options, access to good clientele as potential purchasing inspiration in an open trade sense. As everyone grows, the vendors should/could be sponsoring back to the site itself; SO LONG as there is accountability measurements in place.., AGAIN like good ole days.

I also would like to see a dedicated "Tech-room Archive"! HOWEVER, those making said contributions should be required to and able to take decent pictures at the very least and enough that if it had to, the pics should be able to dictate and explain wtf is going on to some of the newer troubled folks who may not be AS mechanically inclined. Not saying that it shouldn't be a learning process but a before/after pic of a mod or a repair process to me does NOT constitute an effective learning curve for someone who's never done it before and using 'Harbor Freight' as a Life Preserver to make things happen so that just like the handicapped, they become fun to watch.

I myself have been given some   about and more often thankfully praise of my lengthy thread dissertations and picture overloads... Witty banter obviously isn't the [only ? lol] key attracting people to my build pages in such short times. I hope to even improve on my own works on this site.

and for the "recent posts feature" thanks.. I like that and I do believe in the menu tab on the task bar does offer a 'recent' option that seems to work similarly or am I wrong?

Anyways gentlemen, glad to see all and still be a part too.

EDIT:: I think as site growth comes int affect, regional areas sections would be keen too. unless thats what the mapping topic was about. (?)

For the how to and tech sections, I can contribute information on clusters from 95 and newer (how to fix common issues, how to set miles and swap them, the year ranges and types of them, and working on reprogramming for larger tires), I can bring in my HVAC how to for electric controls being put into cable driven trucks, and I have a guide for steering wheels that can be swapped into our trucks.

I may have a few more things as well, and can re create some mods that have had photos or information lost to be as great as they can be.

I'm re thinking the rangers by year sections. It worked on the ram forum but maybe not here. Not sure, do you think it should be condensed somewhat?

MAIN REASON I really miss the "what did you do to your ranger today" thread and you would have to start one for each year section in general..... too much.

Well ideally that is more of a general-ized thread more than a specific order of things. That could be a thread ideally started in the lounge or off-topic even.

for the "project log" section, how about calling it "rig rundown" ?

i'm sure we'll find ways to improve as we go along too. Suggestions are welcome :-)

Looks like I need a name rotation script. Every time you come here it would be different.

It feels like the breakdown by year is a little overwhelming. Maybe because this forum is new and there a very few posts..

The 69-70 Mustang forum I visit has the "What did you do to your Mustang today" at the top of their tech section.
