Development of the forum continues - having listened to members' views on the subject, I have found a way of filtering out http image inserting that you should find more acceptable than the current one.

Up until now if you put an HTTP link into the insert image dialogue box it was simply replaced by an error image when you posted - I can understand that some of the members found that frustrating when it also filtered out ANY HTTP link in the post..

That system has been replaced by a new filter that ONLY works on the insert image function - you may now copy and paste or insert HTTP links freely into your posts as these do not compromise the security of this site - members are warned however that navigating to any HTTP link may expose you to malware or allow others to see what you are doing.

If you try to insert an HTTP link into the insert image dialogue box you will now get a warning alert and your link will not be placed in your post - by all means post the link to the image using copy & paste or insert link.

Sounds like a great solution Chris, thank you for working on this, it's appreciated. :)

Test.....

Observation: adding anything after the pic via edit probably won't be possible, user beware. :)

I second the motion. Nice work, Chris!

@Bill: did you take that photo yourself?

No, I just grabbed a pic.

I also notice something else is back.......at the bottom of this quick reply, the Email notification box is checked. And it wasn't by me; looks like it inadvertently got reintroduced.

Well spotted Bill - naughty check box emptied again.

You can edit after the pic if it is last - just use the down arrow to navigate to the bottom of the pic and hit return.

Here is an inserted pic

And here is the edit .....

Thanks Chris, nice work!!!! I so want to rep you more but I guess it's a one time thing and I already did it some time back. :-/

*** How about adding a two to five minute delay to that stupid edit notice. Honestly, I can't remember how long it's been since I've seen anyone screw around with edits and play games in any forum I've followed, but it's been well over 10 years. This, unless there's some other reason it absolutely must be there. ;)

Lol - I suppose you could always use the preview button to check out your post BEFORE you post it....

... it is starting to look like a "Billydo" list instead of a "Honeydo" one... ;)

Or alternatively, instead of allowing (trusting?) people to edit and for example, to include something inadvertently omitted, they can add it in a new post. This does have some benefits. ;)

Allowing and trusting are perspectives but congruent in meaning during software development.
