Love the site so far but I'm wondering if there can be a couple suggestions perhaps tweaked or implemented.

The gallery feature is great, however.  Is there a way to be able to attach more than just one file/image to your post?  IE:  As it sits now, if I want to post more than one picture I go to gallery then have to link it from the gallery to the post.  Most all other forums allow you to at least attach 4-5 pictures.  This is super helpful because you aren't having to switch back and forth.  I know for example if I am on my phone I don't even attempt to attach pictures because of that reason where if it has the attach feature I can easily add them.

Next thing I noticed is that when you post a reply, the entire block is huge compared to actual text.  Is there a way to possibly shrink this down.  This is more of my OCD kicking in but it just seems like a huge waste of space.  It appears that the information under our avatar is what is contributing to all the wasted space below the actual text.  I took a screen shot and a rough paint outline of what I am talking about.  Again it's nothing like OMG that's so bad, but it's just that it would shrink down the entire post from being almost 10" in length to half of that.  Is there a way to move some of that stuff up in order to shrink the rest of the space?

Hope I explained that right.

This is how it should look - what browser / operating system are you using?

Nigel, the problemwith what you are seeing is simply... internet explorer.

Without getting too deep into the guts of the software... the screen you are seeing is generated by a totally different routine than everyone else is seeing and was written for internet explorer 7 several years ago.

2 days ago I was working on this frankly just for you :)

BUT I had a big snafu where I couldn't get IE to work on the one computer I could access with IE still on it, my work computer I was remoting in to. Our IT department had removed IE all together because it is problematic.

SOOO I worked on a home computer I had stashed in the basement with IE on it but time ran out and I had to get some sleep.

All is working now on my spare computer but I need to do some more testing.

I did give you some rep points for coming back after enduring your specific view.

The "in post" attachment routine was meant more for PDF manuals or documents or zipped larger files. The gallery works so well and you can insert a million pics if you want we just have to get it working well with IE for you to fully enjoy it.

It might be easier for me to just send you a computer with firefox or chrome on it LOL but 3.3% of internet surfers do still use IE in spite of the problems so until microsoft puts it in the recycle bin for good us coders have to code for it.

I would be curious to know how your IT guys removed IE (not that I plan to), but IE is an integral part of Windows and parts of IE are used in the display of some applications. Removing IE could easily break a 3rd party program.

Edge is the browser for 10, internet explorer and windows explorer are 2 different routines.

They actually put it back on my computer after I complained, I have it today.

True, Edge is the main browser now, but IE lives on and code from that browser is still used by many third party applications. Out ERP system where I work; if I were to dig around and remove IE, the ERP system would cease to function.

As for Windows Explorer, they actually renamed that to File Explorer. Personally, I think Microsoft uses too many Ford names on their stuff. Explorer... Edge... what's next? the Taurus browser? LOL

Forgot to check this yesterday. Yep was using IE. When I switch to Firefox here at work all looks perfect! Had no clue only because by default we still use IE here at work.

I'll just use Firefox. Appreciate all the time you spent! Please don't spend anymore time on it if it is not worth it. :-)

What are the rep points for?
