I'm new to this forum having just bought a 1999 Ranger 4x4 with 281K miles! Just getting broke in, right? Drives good and will see limited use on Vashon Island, WA. My previous truck was an F150 which had a lot of problems that I worked diligently to fix. My new truck is rust free and is pretty much stock aside from the Bluetooth CD player. Am looking forward to networking with some of the experts on this forum to resolve problems as they arise but for now the most pressing problem is figuring out what to do about the door chime / key in ignition chime.

Welcome to the newest Ranger forum (I'm pretty sure) on the internet!

What's wrong with the door chime? Maybe post that here: https://ford-rangers.com/forum54/ to preserve the integrity of your welcome thread :)

You mean what's wrong with it other than it being annoying as hell and very loud late at night.

Welcome!

I have the issue of the key in the ignition and it pings once and goes silent. Not really an issue as I kind of like that. I can jiggle the key and it will go bonzo.
